“What did I,” his throat clicks, swallowing harshly around the tears that he has refused to allow and fall. “What did I do wrong?” Mortification feels like fingers wrapped tightly around his throat, tucking himself closely against the wall and too afraid to even look Rozanov in the eye. There’s a long beat of silence where Shane can practically feel his heart climb into his mouth, his chest aching with a relentless thud.  “Hollander.” He can’t read Rozanov’s tone even on his better days, quiet and short of breath.  Shane wishes that he could dissolve into the floorboards, eyes squeezed shut and a spike of shuddering cold working its way through him. Or, Shane drops hard and fast after their hook-up in Vegas. Ilya takes care of him.

He wanted to bury his face in the juncture between his neck and shoulder, to breathe in the smell of him, to touch his skin and give him everything that he could. He wanted to give to him until there was nothing left, until Shane had disappeared into him forever. “Look at me,” Ilya’s voice was quiet, but Shane obeyed immediately, his eyes fuzzy at the corners, “How are you feeling?” Shane intended to lie. There was no reason to complicate things with hard truths that not even he understood. Instead, his lip wobbled, and he found that he couldn’t say anything at all. “Ah,” Ilya made a noise that sounded nearly as devastated as Shane felt, and put a hand on the back of his neck, pulling him forward. Shane went easily, his forehead pressing into Ilya’s shoulder, and breathing deeply through his nose, trying not to cry. Or, Shane drops after leaving Ilya's house.

As some of you may know, spiders are weird when it comes to mating and, with some species the females kill the males (like the black widow and dark fishing spider) afterwards

Unbeknownst to Peter, he may have picked up some of these behaviours with the bite

Peter reacts to being bitten. He’s not scared or anything, but his body has decided that being bitten means he needs to go down. It’s a contradiction between the spider thinking biting means he needs to go pliant and the normal, human side knowing that being bitten isn’t that bad.

Peter and Wade had been getting close lately. Their relationship has developed from occasionally working together to intentionally working together to watching movies together on Wade’s sofa and sharing popcorn

They’re watching Star Wars (a new hope) sat next to each other with a large bowl full of popcorn balanced on the cushions between them

They had argued on patrol about what movie to watch later since it was a Friday evening and Peter had no job to get to in the morning. They had eventually agreed that Star Wars was satisfactory but then it was which Star Wars. That argument took a while. Eventually Peter suggested they just watch all of them. Luckily they both agreed on the correct order

Wade had changed out of his suit and into shorts and a t-shirt, Peter was wearing borrowed shorts and one of Wade’s knock off Spider-Man shirts that he’d definitely given him on purpose even though he denied it since his suit was too hot and gross for the summer evening

Both men had watched the film multiple times and were quoting entire scenes at each other, Peter even had a whole “did you know, in the original version-“ rant only for Wade to respond with a noncommittal “mhm, I’ve known that for ages”. Peter threw a piece of popcorn at his head

The movie continues and the both of them are thoroughly engrossed. Wade and Peter both try and pick the same piece at one point. Peter snatches it, Wade grabs his hand and tries to pry the popcorn out and Peter throws it across the room. If he can’t have it, now Wade can’t. Wade glares at him and Pater grins back smugly. As an attempt at a petty comeback, Wade bites Peter’s hand.

It's only for a moment, then Wade throws Peter's hand back to him and goes back to watching the film. Wade looks away from him, he looks annoyed, and Peter realises that he feels bad. He feels terrible. He wants to apologise and wants Wade to not be annoyed at him. He brings his knees up and hugs them to his chest, getting lost in spiralling thoughts, staring at the TV but not really paying attention.

It takes a little over a minute for Wade to notice that Peter isn't enjoying the movie anymore, even the trash-compacter scene isn't entertaining him, and he looks over quizzically. Peter continues staring ahead, he looks like he's dissociated.

"Hey Pete, you good?"

Peter shakes his head, but doesn't look at him.

Wade puts the bowl of popcorn on the floor and turns to sit facing Peter. "I'm not upset, man, it's all good"

Peter hugs himself tighter and nods. Wade pauses the film, "Pete, talk to me, what's wrong?"

Finally, Peter looks away from the screen, "I'm sorry"

"You don't-"

"I really don't want to make you feel bad"

Wade blinks. This is so odd coming from Peter. They're always fine messing with each other, they always piss each other off, but it's never that deep. However, something has clearly happened this time. Wade doesn't know what's wrong, but neither does Peter, supposedly. Only thing Wade is sure of is that Peter is the one who needs the comfort, not him. "D'you want a hug?"

Peter nods again and crawls over to Wade, making himself small to fit against Wade's chest so that he's almost fully enveloped when he wraps his arm around him. Wade feels the tension in Peter’s shoulders dissipate as he melts into him.

Peter has never been overly touchy, not like Wade is. It’s not that he doesn’t like touch, but Wade is normally the one to initiate. Wade rests his chin on the top of Peter’s head and presses play, they continue the film curled together.

By the time Obi-wan dies, Peter feels better. He sits back against the sofa, away from Wade, “I dunno what happened there”, he rubs the back of his neck in embarrassment, “sorry about that”

“It’s all good baby boy, we all need some tlc now and then, just try let me know if you’re gonna go all sad and pouty on me again”

“Yeah… I’ll do my best”

Peter turns back to the film, and so does Wade, he's still not paying attention, but this time for a different reason.

He genuinely doesn’t know what happened. He’s never felt like that before. He was so upset. All he wanted to do was make it up to Wade, he wanted to be good for Wade, he wanted Wade to tell him it’s was all ok. But why? Peter focuses, he had felt upset after Wade had pulled away, after he’d bitten his hand, but neither of them had done anything too different. Peter shakes his head, trying to physically get rid of the confusion and just focus on the movie. He could worry about whatever that was at a more convenient time.

Ok, I need to explain what's going on here. Basically, I've messed with the concept of subspace and subdrop to make it fit this spidery Peter headcanon. When Pete gets bitten, he enters subspace (only if he is comfortable, he allows his body to slip into it) and the concept comes from biting behaviour from spiders. Because he doesn't know what's going on, and neither does Wade here, he isn't brought down from his subspace slowly/gently and he experiences subdrop.

btw, subspace and subdrop are terms used most commonly in bdsm communities and in reference to sex or intimate activities, so while I am not writing that here, if you do look into it on your own, that it what you'll find :)

The Olympians Ep2 Las Vegas

he's a shut-in omega who doesn't see any alphas (or really much of anyone) on a regular basis and he's never quite been at the peak of his health, so what, screw him. it was bound to happen sooner or later, and to be honest, it doesn't really mess with his current schedule, so who is he to complain?

besides, finding an alpha to cozy up with is kind of on the bottom of the list of his priorities, what with the whole hunt for kira business going down.

cue light, an alpha, to immediately clock what's happening with l. he decides against inquiring about it and puts the information away for the time being- while it's interesting knowledge about his enemy, secondary genders have never been a part of their unique cat-and-mouse.

(and plus, he's already trying to compartmentalize any and all feelings he has towards l. kira doesn't need his tormentor painted in any more of a sympathetic hue.)

there is a brief moment right after the subdrop is triggered where everyone is nervously placing bets on if the only local alpha at their disposal will offer himself up to help with pheromone exposure therapy, and when both parties remain silent, it is sort of just clumsily swept under the rug.

Like the first time it happened and Daisuke saw Maxwell shaking like he does when he gets just the wrong side of overwhelmed so he calls Maxwell over and puts a hand in his hair and Maxwell just folds into his side. Monty brings his med kit over and Marya can see he’s lost some blood so goes to get some food so he doesn’t collapse from exhaustion. Max comes out of his rage and for the first time he isn’t alone in an alleyway or disgusted by his actions, but he’s surrounded by people who are proud of him and that he helped protect.

It always hits after.

Not right away—not while my skin is still tingling or I’m drifting in that floaty space. It waits. Quietly. Until the room stills. Until the air changes. Until I’m left with nothing but myself.

And then it comes rushing in. The shame. The overthinking. The pit in my stomach that says, You went too far again. You always do.

Sometimes it’s immediate—right after he says good girl and kisses my forehead like I didn’t just beg him to break me. Sometimes it’s delayed, creeping up an hour later when I’m washing my hands and suddenly can’t look in the mirror.

I try to tell myself it’s just my brain being loud. That this feeling isn’t proof I did anything wrong. But I still get caught in it. The post-scene spiral.

“Did he actually enjoy that or was he just going along with it?” “Was that even sexy or just sad?” “Why did I need that so badly?”

I wish I could say the shame came from being pushed too far, but honestly? It comes when I get exactly what I wanted.

When I ask for something filthy or degrading or rough and he gives it to me—beautifully, tenderly, perfectly—and I still end up lying there feeling hollow. Like maybe there’s something wrong with needing it at all.

It’s not the scene that does this. It’s the voice that shows up after—the one that says I’m too much and not enough at the same time. The one that thinks aftercare is something you have to earn, not something you’re worthy of.

Sometimes I wish I could just turn it off. Slip back into soft arms and stay there. But even in the safety, my shame is clever. It wears different masks.

Was that okay? Am I okay? Did I ruin it by wanting it too much?

I haven’t figured out how to self-soothe yet. Not really. Sometimes I scroll. Sometimes I cry. Sometimes I repeat the same mantras over and over like maybe this time they’ll stick.

This is not who I am, it’s just how I feel. This will not matter the way it feels like it does right now.

But more often than not, I just sit in it. Quietly. Hoping the tide goes out soon.
