TLDR: im a bit annoyed that Adolescene of Utena's new theater run only has the subbed version, and I explain why.
i was really excited to see adolescence of utena in theaters since its gonna be in a theater near where i live soon, so i was gonna watch all of revolutionary girl utena and then go see the movie right? yeah so they only have it in sub... DUDE. HOW AM I GONNA SEE THE SUBTITLES ON A GIANT ASS THEATER SCREEN!!!!!!!! also like I'd just would prefer it was dubbed... like the movie has an english dub but nooooooo they (in all fairness they don't have the rights to the english dub but the point still kinda stands) its kinda annoying lol. also theres the fact that the ENTIRE FUCKING MOVIE is on youtube for free and so is the ENTIRE SHOW (its literally the first result when you search for each Adolescence of Utena English Dub and Revolutionary Girl Utena Dub) so like why spend money when I can have a better experience (i prefer dubbed) at home for free. im just biased towards dubs and also worried i wont be able to see the subtitles on the theater screen (mainly this), but i do hope that anyone who sees the film enjoys it! im just a whiny little bitch lol. Also all i know about the series is that its a magical girl anime and that iirc one of the directors (who worked on sailor moon before Utena) shipped Usagi Tsukino and Rei Hino from sailor moon together, so my extreme lack of knowledge on Utena probably makes my take on this whole thing a lot less valid :/

I love anime from the bottom of my heart and especially love listening to both the dub and sub of the shows
