"They Learn Your Name"
Title: "They Learn Your Name": Stray Kids fanfiction
Pairing: Stray Kids x Reader Female ( poly relationship )
Genre: Poly Romance | Idol AU | Soft Angst | Established Relationship
Warnings: Rumors, emotional distress, implied online harassment.
Summary: When your name stops being a blur and starts trending, the line between protection and abandonment fractures. In the quiet aftermath of rumors, the boys choose you.
You learn how bad it is from the way Chan won’t look at you.
Not when you come in. Not when you sit. Not even when Felix instinctively shifts closer and then freezes like he’s touched a live wire.
The rule used to be simple: doors closed, touch is allowed.
Tonight, the door is closed and no one moves.
Hyunjin is scrolling on his phone, face blank in that dangerous way. Changbin keeps cracking his knuckles like something inside him wants out. Minho is leaning against the counter, arms crossed, eyes sharp—guarding, always guarding.
You’re still wearing the bracelet.
You forgot to take it off.
Jeongin notices. His gaze flicks to your wrist and then away again, fast, like he’s protecting you from being seen.
“They’re using your name now,” Hyunjin says eventually. No preamble. No softness.
Felix’s breath stutters. Jisung mutters, “Fuck,” under his breath like it’s a prayer.
You nod. You’d guessed as much. Once you become a name instead of a blur, it’s over.
Chan finally speaks, voice wrecked in a way he hates letting anyone hear. “The company thinks it’d be… easier if you weren’t around for a while.”
A while. Like love is seasonal.
Minho scoffs. “They mean gone.”
Silence again.
You feel strangely calm. The kind of calm that comes right before you do something irreversible.
“Okay,” you say.
Every head snaps up.
“I’ll resign,” you continue. “I’ll make it clean. No drama. No statements. I disappear and it gives you space to deny whatever you need to.”
“No,” Felix says immediately, voice small and breaking. He reaches for you and stops himself halfway, fingers curling into his palm.
Chan looks like you’ve punched him.
“You don’t get to decide that alone,” Changbin says, rough. “Not when this—” He gestures between all of you. “—isn’t just yours to give up.”
You swallow. “You’re idols. I’m replaceable.”
That’s when Minho moves.
He steps in front of you, close enough that the others fade out, eyes dark and furious and loyal in the way that makes your chest ache. “Say that again,” he says quietly. “And I’ll lose my mind.”
Seungmin’s voice comes from behind him, steady but deadly serious. “She’s not replaceable. She’s just the only one without a fandom to shield her.”
That lands harder than anything else tonight.
Hyunjin stands, finally. He doesn’t touch you, but he’s close—close enough you feel the heat of him. “Do you know what scares me?” he asks softly. “Not the rumors. Not the backlash.”
He meets your eyes. “It’s you thinking you’re disposable.”
Your vision blurs.
Chan steps forward at last. His hands shake when he takes your face, but he does it anyway, consequences be damned. “If this ends,” he says, voice breaking fully now, “it won’t be because we were scared.”
Felix presses into your side, crying quietly. Jeongin wraps his arms around your waist from behind like he’s anchoring you to the room. Jisung’s forehead rests against yours, breath uneven. Changbin’s hand is warm and solid at your back.
No speeches. No promises.
Just presence.
You whisper, “They’re going to tear me apart.”
Minho answers without hesitation. “Then they go through us first.”
Seungmin exhales. “And they won’t like that.”
Your phone buzzes.
No one tells you to check it.
No one tells you not to.
You let it ring until it stops.
For the first time, the fear doesn’t feel like yours alone.
It belongs to all of you now.
And somehow, that makes it survivable.
