Tumblr have we talked about how Stygian and Starswirl look related
The coat color, the similar eye color, the striped manes. Even though Starswirl has gone grey you can tell he was once striped. Amd now that im seeing them in this PDF instead of in the show with the backgrounds and aftereffect, im noticing Stygian's mane ties with the color of Star's cloak and hat. Even down to the lineart color, Stygian looks absolutely like Starswirl's younger brother, nephew or even grandchild.
And honestly that makes their story that much more bullshit. What do you mean you found your younger relative doing some sketchy shit, and before even asking questions you sacrifice yourself and your friends to trap him in an interdimensional rift thats basically death.

If Starlight's Element is Equality, I can see that being a reflection of Teamwork. You can't have good teamwork if each member isn't treated/seen as equals!
