new deacon headcanon:
he was the agent on duty for Sturges' transportation and mindwipe, had to take a break from subterfuge due to a staff shortage.
It was his idea to give Sturges the backstory of being the son of a fisherman, named 'Sturgeon'. Couldn't stop laughing about a man named after a fish, so he was forced to leave the room so poor Amari could do her job. The only reason his name wasn't Trout or Sardine is because Amari had to draw the line somewhere, for her own sanity.
When Deacon stumbles across Sturges in sanctuary and 'introduces himself' he has to find the quickest way out of the conversation before he starts laughing his ass off like a lunatic.
