Snack ideas for studying
Nuts (peanuts, almonds, yoghurt covered nuts, cashews)
Nutrition bars (Kind, Fulfil & more)
Vegetable sticks (carrots, cucumbers, peppers, tomatoes) (+ balsamic if you are feeling adventurous)
Fruit salads (grapes, apples, pears, banana, oranges, tangerines)
Yoghurt + jam + digestive biscuits crushed at the bottom
Smoothies (fruit of choice + yoghurt + banana + tsp honey)
Popcorn
Toasted whole grain bread + butter + Jam/marmalade
dried fruit (mango, banana, apple, pineapple)
For me personally, I prefer to keep my snacks light but nourishing and filling, especially earlier in the day. I like grabbing a filter coffee with 42% coffee, 43% milk, 5% sugar in the morning. The coffee is a nice bonus which boosts my motivation to study and gives me something to do when my brain needs a 30-second break while studying.
What to avoid eating while studying
According to Pass the OT, it may be best to avoid:
refined carbohydrates (so stuff like white bread, cereals, some pastas etc)
sugary drinks (monster, sugary coffees)
Processed foods (microwave meals, chips)
Trans fats (ice cream, pastries, pizza)
Alcohol
Instead, look towards swapping them out for whole-grain alternatives (as Very Well Health suggests). Another website with information is INDI.
