My favourite thing about going into work at the studio on a holiday is how relaxed the atmosphere is. Idk it's nice to sit down and do a little more work on a DreamWorks show while somebody blasts cheesy 80s music over the tables and everyone sings along and PAs aren't breathing down our necks

It's kind of funny that we just worked on a Halloween episode set to air next Halloween, during Halloween season. At least they're not in a big hurry.
Studio Animation Proposal
We want to create a light installation that will be manipulated by either music from an ipod/phone or with a human controlled midi (musical instrument digital interface) keyboard. This installation will include a body of light bulbs attached to strings and hanged in an orderly fashion. Each of the individual light bulbs will be programmed to turn on or off whenever a specific key is pressed on the keyboard.
Plan
1st & 2nd week: research and planning. Finalizing ideas build small model
3rd & 4th week: research materials needed material collection revise Arduino and Processing
5th - 10th week: programming and constructing installation
11th - 12th week: continue towards a finished installation. Update websites
Potential obstacles
Expense
Realistically, this project at the moment is looking quite expensive in terms of material needs. Stuff like Arduino, the light bulbs and especially the keyboard will cost a lot so we are going to try to work around that and replace and improvise whenever needed. We will update our blog facing problems as such.
Skill and time
Also this project will be expensive with time as we have to dedicate a lot of the project time into learning how to program and wire Arduinos. However we do have a bit of experience from last year’s compulsory Physical Computing paper so we do know the fundamentals of it. A potential risk here with lack of knowledge could massively postpone our project’s progress especially if there isn’t any experienced people who can help us. Though we will try to ask for as much help as we can in the beginning while it isn’t as busy yet to gain advantage of their knowledge. On top of this, we also have the library and the internet as a versatile source of information.
