I’m heartbroken over the loss of Matthew Perry. But I’m seeing so many posts about him in Friends and not enough of his other awesome projects. 4 of his characters are in my list of comfort shows. I’ve been through so much, and watching my comfort shows with him, has been with me through those times.
Here are some other great roles I love him in.
Matt Albie - Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip
My favorite show he’s in by far. If you haven’t seen it you should find it and watch it! It’s only one season, but it’s soooo worth it. I don’t think it’s streaming anywhere without buying it, but if you’re talented enough you can find it elsewhere.
Joe Quincy - The West Wing
Just a fantastic show. Please watch it! It’s on Max.
The Good Wife and The Good Fight - Mike Kresteva
Two great shows!! And Mike is a fun character.
Fools Rush In - Alex Whitman
Romantic comedy. Very good! I’m not sure where/if it streams. I haven’t watched it in a while but it was always a favorite.
Three To Tango - Oscar Novack
Such a good movie! Funny funny and a great cast!
Ally McBeal - Todd Merrick
It’s a short guest spot for him, but he is great! Plus, it’s one of my top 5 shows and simply wonderful and fun.
Matthew Perry - Studio 60
Obviously, these are not all of his roles, but they’re among my favorites. He deserves to be remembered for his roles outside of Friends. I truly hope you check some of these out, because he was so great in everything he did.
LADY PAULSON for ALEXA | NEW YORK POST (2024)
Hey. West Wing fandom. You should watch Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. It’s one season written by the man himself Aaron Sorkin, and stars Bradley Whitford and Matthew Perry. It’s also got Timothy Busfield in it (Danny in TWW) and it’s so. freaking. good. I’m rewatching rn and I felt the need to put this recommendation out.
Watch Studio 60. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.

In light of Matthew Perry's death, I'm gonna rewatch Studio 60
it's one of the most underrated TV shows I know of, and one of Perry's long forgotten starring roles. I bought the whole show on YouTube a while back because it's not streaming anywhere and I remain a fan to this day
— half moon eyes, difficult despise
summary: once again, you find yourself upset with Harriet over the fact that she’s hiding you. It’s the last straw, you simply cannot be with someone who doesn’t want to show you off. However, Harriet decides that she will not go into the new year without you.

“So,” You initiated a conversation you had been holding off for the past week. You wrapped your arms around the famous blondes neck while she sat in her hair and makeup chair. “Who are you taking to my new year’s eve party?”
You smirked at her. You and Harriet had been together for nearly a year now. Nobody knew about it, and Harriet wasn’t planning on telling anyone anytime soon.
I have been torturing myself rewatching shows I enjoyed but they got cancelled after one season.
An ongoing list:
Deception - Okay, this one is silly but it’s so entertaining. We barely got crumbs for the Cameron/Kay relationship, but they would have been adorable together. It ended with an incredible cliffhanger that would have been great to see get resolved.
Whiskey Cavalier - Holds up so good. The chemistry Scott Foley and Lauren Cohan have is unreal. The entire cast/characters were great. Ends with a cliffhanger, but I assume it had a positive outcome.
The Brave - I plowed through this one the fastest. So far, this one is the one I can’t believe didn’t get renewed. I think the mass appeal was highest with this one. I believe it premiered the same season that Seal Team did, and they were too similar. Seal Team had a bigger star, so people chose that one instead. Unfortunate, because I loved this one.
Combat Hospital - My favorite part of this show was obviously Simon/Rebecca. I did a fair bit of fast forwarding on this one. Lowest on the list so far, but I would have watched more.
Debris - A weird sci-fi show, this one never stood a chance. It’s such a cool, unique show. I was into it. Also, very into Brian/Finola. I would have loved to see that relationship develop.
Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip - I clearly never rewatched this show entirely since it originally aired because I barely recognized anything I was watching. This was tough to get through. It started off so good. Aaron Sorkin does a great pilot and often it goes downhill from there. The cast is the best part, and the throwaway humor is great. The two main couples, especially Matt & Harriet, drag the show down. (And this is coming from a serial shipper.) I hated them together. There is no way they last at all. I’m glad I finished and can move on to the next. This is the first show on this list that I’m not upset it got cancelled.
LA to Vegas - Solid comedy. Out of all these shows so far, this had the most potential for mass appeal. Networks are dumb to cancel comedies after one season. They need time to grow.
Perfect Harmony - 10/10 I actually laughed out loud a few times watching this. The songs are great, and I’ve had Glorious stuck in my head since that episode.
