Welcome to Sim State University!

The Student Union is the building new students visit first, and the one graduates visit last.

The entry hall.

Both of the corridors to the sides lead to the grand auditorium upstairs.

This auditorium is mainly used for graduation ceremonies.

My plan is to make the graduates walk across the stage using the Simwardrobe's fashion show controller. Which means I could even make them wear custom gowns based on their majors 🤩 *runs off CC hunting*

Back to the lower level, you will find a nice cafeteria for a celebratory lunch and a photo backdrop.

The open arch after the cafeteria leads to a memento gallery.

The goal is to fill it with pictures of graduated cohorts and cum laude students.

But if you're a new student, your first stop will be the administration office, to declare your major and pay your tuitions fees.

There's also a little meet and greet area to help you decide on your major.

The majors available at SSU will be Politics, History, Economics and Pyschology.

And finally, the courtyard.

I’m not sure if you guys know but here in Brazil there’s a lot of public universities and they are usually top quality. the thing is… most of people who study in these UNI are wealthy and that isnt just because we have really hard admission exams, but because we study full time there. in other words: no time for work.

in fact, what happens is: you have spots saved for low class people, people of color and from public schools. Half of them, actually. but then…the ones who finish their graduation are, mostly, the rich ones.

we have some programs where you work as TA or at research projects and you get paid something, theres also a permanence assistance but, where I study, for example, there was a cut in 20% in all of these programs last year.

I have a lot of friends that aren’t studying right now because they needed to get a job instead. Jee, the only reason I am studying is because I had some savings working as a freelance artist (and yes, I’m open for commission).

anyways I just saw some posts of people shitting at college students as if they were all spoiled kids. But thats not how it works everywhere. We re fighting hard here. me and my 2 colleges walk 2 hours everyday because we can’t even pay for public transport, I only have lunch and dinner at UNI restaurant cause it’s R$1.40 for meal($0.28) - other than that…well, I’m not that lucky everyday. and that’s because my parents are giving me all the support they can, but we don’t have much for start, so imagine the kids who can’t have any.

Hello everyone,

Those of you that follows me probably knows that I’ve been sharing buildings I created for my “build a hood” challenge. (I guess it’s a challenge but I’m not following any rules other than my regular gameplay stuff.) Anyway, the kids in that hood are almost at the age of college! So I needed to start setting up a university neighbourhood for them. 

I will share the map with the lot links after the first 4 or 5 lots are done. For start I wanted to surround this middle square section of the map with 4 lots, each of them having 2 different but related community lot aspects. (I also wanted to create the illusion of a lake in the middle of all these lots, looks better in hood view.)

The first lot is the library and the campus coffee shop. I think of this also as a student union and the main building of the campus area. 

I had so much fun building this lot, I hope you’ll enjoy it as well!
