he's always going to be a little bit ooc in that regard, like you gotta look at your two points of

1) believable for him 2) this is what people want

and you gotta admit that one of those is gonna be wrong. or both. it's just about how you merge the two, how you tweak his canonical shitty as hell personality into something even a little bit desirable for anyone who isn't batshit insane (lookin at you, yorozu). like the only person he's ever shown the tiniest bit of care for is uraume who is more like a bizarre combination of ward, student, servant etc etc etc whatever tf you wanna call them

AND WITH ALL THAT IN MIND

WRITING SUKUGO/GOSUKU SPECIFICALLY is not as simple as each of them having the same kind of panic. gojo is easy. you can have gojo react in any way a regular fucking human being would and, on some level, thats fine. that counts. he's a regular human being with normal capacity for human relationships.

to an extent anyway,

sukuna is not that. even if you apply emotions to him, he's not the same.

so what i have done is this.

for gojo:

-primarily sexual in nature, at least at first -has a preliminary phase before he even accepts his attraction that mostly centers around the fact that sukuna is an awful person and technically his enemy -ends a tad bit codependent and not entirely healthy but he's so powerful whose gonna tell him no?

for sukuna:

-neither sexual nor romantic at first. it's just simple interest and acknowledgment that gojo's an attractive strong man -never really questions finding gojo attractive, or smart, or strong. those are simply facts. -ends very very possessive with a side helping of codependency. no one can tell him no cause he'll kill them if they do.

writing sukuna's increasing attraction to gojo hinges more on subtlety than gojo's heavy-handed crisis. its about little observations regarding his physical attractiveness or his strength or how he could be intelligent if he'd stop acting so stupid all the time. it's hidden in little moments where he shows he thinks gojo could be so much more than what he's shown himself to be - gojo could be so powerful, could be so much better than anyone else sukuna's ever seen and he wants to be proven right about that.

sukuna doesn't panic about finding gojo attractive because sukuna is not a man who panics if he can damn well help it. he's smart and analytical and has more patience than anyone in the damn show (man is willing to wait and plot and wait some more before doing a damn thing).
