Seriously, am I the only one who finds Ironclad's new dialogue to be really unnerving? Whenever he gets to talk to the architect, he's barely able to string a sentence together. I always assumed he was kind of a stoic silent type, but spire 2 pretty heavily implies that the guy straight up is barely aware of what's happening at this point in time. I can't think of what's worse: has he always been like this since taking his deal? Or is it just that living for 1000 years under Vaaku's influence has caused his mind to slowly atrophy since it was never meant to last that long? The timeline seems to imply it's the former, based on the mention that he is driven by "pure instinct and blood" even during the Spire 1 days. Many thoughts to be had about this man. All of the slayers are tragic to some extent, basically enslaved by Neow after their first death in the spire to be used as pawns in her war against the Architect. But there's always the hope that if they succeed, Neow will let them be free? Sure, learning about their true nature seems to undo her powers and kill them (see the necronomicon event in spire 1), but there's always a chance that they could get to return to their old lives after the spire is slain for real this time. In fact, with Spire 2, we now have it confirmed that lot of them did in fact do that! They survived for the next 1000 years until the spire reopened! So there's always been that hope. But what about Ironclad? What life does he have even if the spire is slain? Does he get his mind back after Vaaku relinquishes control? Or is he just going to be a husk that wanders Preon until the next time Vaaku needs him? When does Ironclad get to rest?
