Night-time D train, I found myself sitting next to this group.

Writer - Tall brown-haired handsome writer dude. Blonde - Intense blonde female friend, white/red dress. Red - Cool hip shorter friend dressed in black with dark red dyed hair.

Something I heard him say mid-conversation.

Writer: And the mirrors come together and they’re all going and touching each other’s faces.

I had to ask.

Writer: It’s a show going up live at Dixon Place next month, July 18th. It’s called “Streepshow.” Actually the second episode, the first episode performed last year.

Me: Is this something you saw or worked on?

Writer: Well, I wrote it.

Me: That’s amazing! So it’s called Streepshow? Long shot, but is Meryl Streep involved somehow?

They all laughed.

Writer: I wish. Well, yes, she is “involved.” The premise is 9 Meryl Streep characters, and they’re all in a reality show. I’m vetting the plot of the episode right now, which I think is offensive, so I don’t know, but these two like it.

Blonde: It’s funny! It’s really really funny.

Me: Can any of you give me a piece of New York-related advice?

Red: Don’t get stuck on the subway with food poisoning.
