“Damn, watch where you’re going” Han grumbled as you bumped into him, making him spill his coffee on you.
“God, nerds” you groan, looking at the stain he caused. Hans eyes widened as his glasses tipped back in place. It was you- the cheer captain.
“Oh my god- I’m sorry, I didn’t recognise you- let me help” he said, getting tissues to wipe your outfit. You huffed and left, leaving him in a mess.
“Great first impression…” he thought to himself, rubbing his shirt with the tissue to remove the coffee stain.

During chemistry, you were assigned a new project and it had to be pair work. As if the devils heard your words, you got paired up with Han. The boy looked up as the teacher called your name after his. He gulped and nervously looked at you, who rolled your eyes and faced your back to him stiffly.
“Hey” he said nervously. “Sorry about earlier-“
“Sorry won’t fix it” you snap. “It was an important show and you ruined it for me. I got ten marks deducted from my team”
His eyes widened a bit as he defended himself. “Sorry! But it’s just a coffee stain, it won’t affect your performance” he protested. “Besides, I think you would’ve done great either way” he mumbled. You didn’t catch his confession as you shot back.
“This isn’t a joke, Han Jisung. My parents finally found time to watch my cheer and they had to see me get scolded for a damn stain that some nerd like you had caused” you groan. “Well I’m sorry, but I think waving pom poms around and calling it a talent isn’t as serious as you make it” he snapped back, regretting the words that left his mouth.
Your eyes widened as your heart sank. The fact that some random had insulted your passion made something burn inside you. “Yuna was right, I shouldn’t be nice to nerds like you” you mumbled as he scoffed. “Nice? Wow. Yeah. Real nice” he rolled his eyes.
“You’re dead to me, don’t talk to me like you’ve known me for my whole life. You know nothing about cheer and nothing about my passion for cheer” You huffed, turning around and facing your back to him again.
Han’s confidence faltered a bit as he realised how much of a dick he sounded like. “Hey- I’ll make it up to you” he said. “Me and my friends are gonna perform on Friday night- you should come” he said firmly. “Oh, you and your little rapper friends? Yeah, I’ll pass.” You said with a final look before the bell rang. You stood up and left the classroom, leaving no space for arguments.

“Hey- woah you look like a mess” Chan said as Changbin smirked. “Did your little crush mess you up that bad?” He said, resulting in Han flipping him off. “Whatever.. I don’t care about her”
“Sure you don’t” Chan said softly.
“What do you guys want” he grumbled, clearly being bothered by how pissed he made you.
“Well, me and Binnie are planning to go watch the cheer routine, you coming?” Chan asked with a knowing smirk. “And risk that girl shooting daggers at me? Yeah I’ll pass” he rolled his eyes.
“Cmon, you’ll be fine” Changbin said.
“Take it as a chance to apologies” Chan added.

“Why am I doing this..” Han thought to himself as he sat next to Chan and Changbin, crossing his arms and huffing as your cheer team went up. Your eyes caught his for a split second, guilt waving across him before you broke the contact. Once the music started playing, you got into position, smiling and holding your hands up before starting the routine.
You were a flyer, so naturally you caught the most attention. After doing a scale and a arabesque, the crowd cheered. Han’s eyes widened a bit as he saw you in action, he couldn’t help but fall even more for you. You landed in the base’s arms as you popped back up and smiling, making the crowd cheer for you and your team.
Once your routine was done, you guys exited the stage. “Hey girl, did you see the guy in the crowd? With the soft perm and glasses? He’s so cute” your friend, who’s part of the cheer team, whispered to you as you exited.
“Who-? Han?” You say in shock. “Yeah, Han Jisung! He’s so cute” she giggles as you gag.
“Sure.. he’s all yours” you snicker as she looks confused. “Ooh, did you guys have beef?” She coos. “You can say that” you murmur, feeling an odd feeling in your chest.
Han caught your eyes again as you exited the stage, suddenly feeling small. He could tell how passionate you were for cheerleading and felt like a jerk. “Dude, just go apologise” Chan whispered. “Fine.. I’ll find her later” he said.

Once school was over, you guys were returning back to the dorms. Han was waiting for you in the common area with Chan and Changbin. He perked up once he smelt your perfume, looking at you as you limped forward. His expression faltered a bit as he saw your eyes, it was red. Were you crying?
He went up to you and immediately reached out to help you, but he stopped, not knowing if you welcomed his touch. “You again” you huff as you looked away, not wanting him to see your face.
“Hey- I’m sorry. I was a jerk just now, I shouldn’t have insulted your passion like that.. you were amazing on there.. please.. forgive me” he rambled as he looked into your eyes.
“If you think I’m crying over that, you’re wrong” you say firmly, barely keeping your balance. “I know.. I wasn’t assuming. But I want you to know that I’m sorry” he said with a firm look. You sighed and was about to say something when you lost your balance. He immediately reached over and pulled you up by the waist, propping both of his hands around your hips firmly. Your hands naturally shot on his chest as you leaned on him.
“God..” you groaned in pain. “Hey- hey you ok? Did you sprain your ankle?” He frowned, looking at you. “Yeah.. hurts like crap” you admit, propping yourself up while holding him. “Let me help you back to your dorm.. to prove that I’m sorry- and to make it up to you” he said determinedly.
“So? You want a cookie?” You joke, couldn’t help but crack a smile.
His expression softened as he sees you smile genuinely, cheeks warming. “Not necessarily” he joked back as he grinned. You huffed and held onto his arm. “Go on, be my personal walking stick, would you?” You tease as his face reddens. The thought of you using him as a stick made him feel things.
“R..right” he mumbled before guiding you to the dorms.
“Why’d you come watch” you blurted out, catching him off guard. “Uh.. my friends wanted me to go” he said, partly lying and partly telling the truth.
“Oh- right…” you say, a bit disappointed. He suddenly huffed and held your wrist. “I wanted to see you” he admitted. You smiled as your cheeks heated up a bit. “I know” you giggled. “Just wanted to hear you say it” you teased as he huffed.
“You’d make a good baser” you suddenly said, looking at Han. “What?” He asked in confusion.
“You have fast instincts.. people will feel safe around you when doing stunts” you blurt out honestly. “Please. I’d make a great baser, but I fear the whole school would go crazy to see me in a cheer suit” he snickered.
“Is that good or bad?” You asked, looking at him as you held his hand while walking down the hall. “Depends who’s asking, it’s no joke how the girls have a massive crush on me” he smirks, wriggling his eyebrows.
“Keep telling yourself that and maybe one of your imaginary girls will come true” you joke, feeling the strange feeling in your chest again. Jealousy? You asked yourself as he took offence, however his smirk softened into a smile when he caught on your expression.
“Jealous?” He asked. “What! Of what? You? Please” you rolled your eyes.
He kept quiet, knowing that he was right. Once he reached your room, you guys were met with awkward silence. You slowly let go of his arms as you tried to balance while opening the door to your room.
“Hey.. I know you might.. be uncomfortable knowing that basically everyone likes me” he said as you rolled your eyes at his cocky statement. “But I think you’re pretty- prettiest actually- you’re the most gorgeous in the cheer team and you catch everyone’s attention” he admits with a blush. Your heart faltered a bit as past memories flushed back into your mind.
“Being pretty isn’t a good thing, Han. People only want to date you for your looks and not you yourself.” You warned, before shutting the door, leaving Han dumbfounded in front of your dorm room.
“Damn, you messed up big time, buddy” Changbin said as he patted his shoulder, making him flinch.
“How long were you-“
“Oh please, ever since you entered this floor. Lovesick boy” he teased as Chan shook his head.

The next day, Han was walking through the hallway as he saw you in the practice room, doing your stretching routine. He couldn’t help but feel guilt in his chest, knowing that he probably hit another nerve inside you when he called you pretty.
Han’s eyes darkened as he noticed you weren’t alone- boys in his class were staring at you as you stretched. His hands clenched around his shirt as he walked away, jealousy stinging his heart.
Once it was lunch, he sat at the cafeteria with Changbin and Chan. Suddenly, a jock, Seolbin, started talking.
“She’s so flexible”
“That’s hot- and a good thing”
“I bet I can flip her over on bed easily”
“Gonna fold her until she explodes”
Han’s eyes widened as he realised they were talking about you- making sexual jokes and laughing about it. Chan immediately caught on, looking at Han so he could stop him from lunging at the boys.
However, it was no use. Han stood up and gripped Seolbin’s collar, pulling him up by the neck and pinning him to the wall.
“Don’t say shit like that about her, you hear me?” He warns as he almost chokes the boy.
“Chill dude, she’s just- just a cheerleader” Seolbin coughed out as his friends tried to save him in the back.
“W-why are you so defensive? You like her or something?” One of Seolbin’s friends called out as Han shot him a dirty look, making him shut up.
“Say that about her again and it’s over for you” Han warned as Seolbin nodded, desperately trying to break free. The cafeteria was a mess, some gasping while others were cheering him on. Chan and Changbin walked over and held Han back in case if he accidently choked and kill Seolbin. Once he was released, he ran away like a mouse out of a rat trap.
Han was fuming, eyes flaring as he scoffed. “Punk..” he muttered to himself, letting Chan pull him back to his seat.

During break, the commotion died down and everyone was rushing to go home. You were walking through the hallway when you bumped into him again. “Be careful” Han said roughly, his grip on your shoulders tightened.
“Han!” You said, wrapping your arms around his neck and hugging him. He was shocked but melted into your arms as his anger faded away. “You ok now?” You asked softly, patting his head. His eyes widened at the touch, gently nuzzling into your arms. “Yeah.. I’m fine” he mumbled.
“I should be asking you that. Is your ankle ok?” He asked as he looked at it.
“Yeah, it’ll take a few days though” you informed as he nodded. “Look.. Chan told me everything.. and.. I’m sorry you had to deal with Seolbin-“
“Don’t apologies, he’s a jerk” Han muttered.
“Han..” you said as you looked at him softly. He blushed and looked away. “Don’t look at me like that” he murmured as you giggled.
“Thanks, though. I’m honoured that you defended me” you smile as he blushed more. You giggled, pulling him by the tie and kissing his cheek.
“Y-yeah.. no problem” he stuttered as he rubbed his neck, his other hand wrapped around your waist.
“I’m coming to your performance by the way” you informed with a soft smirk. He immediately caught himself and perked up.
“Really? I thought you weren’t interested in me and my ‘little rapper friends’” he mocked you lightheartedly as you smacked his chest.
“Yeah well, you came to mine so I’ll go to yours.. I guess” you mumble, looking down. He smiled, leaning down to whisper in your ear. “Thanks, it means a lot to me, princess” he smiles before guiding you to your friends safely as you held on his arm.

On Friday night, he was performing for the school. He was looking in the crowd for you when you caught his attention. You just finished cheer practice, so your cheer outfit was shimmering under the lights as you stood there with your friends. He couldn’t help but smile and palm the air with his fist as he repeated “yes!” over and over.
They performed “wow” with humour and skill. Once Han went to the noona line, he looked at you and winked. “Excuse me noona, but do you have a boyfriend?” He rapped as he pointed at you. Your eyes widened as you chuckle, shaking your head. The crowd awed at the small reaction.
Once they finished, Han went offstage and ran to you. “Hey, you actually came?” He said, wrapping an arm around your waist as he caught you limping again.
“Yeah, uhm.. my friends wanted me to go” you lied as you mocked his previous excuse. He smirked and pulled you closer, making you wrap your arms around his neck on instinct. “I’m glad, princess” he chuckled as he looked at you. “Is your ankle getting better?” He asked as he caught your expression.
“Yeah, it’s better” you sigh as you leaned against him. He softened up and held you firmly, making you feel safe. “I’m glad you came” he admitted softly into your ear as he patted your head. You smiled and pulled back to face him.
“Why do you care so much about me?” You asked with a gentle smile. He blushed as he looked down. “Because.. because I hate to see you in pain” he admitted softly.
“Why is that” you teased as he pouted. “I don’t know.. I just care for you.. I don’t know if I want to hit you and strangle you or kiss you half of the time” he admitted as he looked into your eyes. You’re a bit taken back at his confession but laughed.
“Doing both doesn’t sound that bad” you joked as he coughed, cheeks reddening. “Just kiss her, pabo!” Changbin called out as Chan giggled. Han flipped him off without breaking eye contact with you.
“Hey.. will.. will you go out with me?” He asked with a soft voice, gentle and hopeful. “Yes” you smile, kissing his cheek as he blushed.
“8 pm, sharp. I’ll text you my address” you said before your friends called you over, leaving him in a hot mess. “About damn time, bud” Chan smirked as he placed his arm around his shoulder. “Shut up” he said, blushing.

At night, he arrived at 7:55. Waiting patiently outside as he checked himself in the mirror. Cologne? Check. Hair? Check. Outfit? Check. Breathe? Check.
He waited outside your house patiently as he ringed the bell. You stepped outside as you looked at him. He was wearing an oversized white button up with some jeans, his hair was softly permed and his watermelon chapstick
surrounded his mouth with a slight gloss.
“Damn, look at you” you smiled as he rubbed his neck shyly, a bit of Dior cologne running away in the air. “You look great, ready to go?” He said, offering his hand. You accepted it gladly and walked down the street.
“Hm. I could get used to this side of you” you smiled as you looked at him. “Though I prefer the usual you” you added.
“What’s the usual me?” He asked, looking down at you. “Oh, you know- the messy hair, thick glasses, oversized hoodie Han” you described as you giggled. “Well I prefer you in any state” he smirked, making you blush.
“Han.. what are we?” You asked, stopping in your tracks as you held his hands.
He gulped as he looked at you, afraid of saying the wrong thing.
“You’re mine. And I don’t want to share” he admitted, rubbing your knuckles a bit.
“Ask me then, properly” you smiled as you stood there, patiently waiting for him.
He cleared his throat, looking away shyly before inhaling and looking at you. “Will you be my girlfriend, princess?” He asked, looking at you hopefully.
You smiled and kissed him. “Yes” you say as you pulled back.
“Goddamn you..” he murmured before pulling you close with one hand on your waist, leaning in and kissing you back, propping one hand on your cheek, tilting your head to deepen the kiss.
After a while, you guys finally pulled back, a hint of watermelon taste on your lips.
“I love you, Han” you smile as you look at him.
“Love you more, now let’s get you on that date” he smiled, holding your hand as you guys walked down the street.
That’s when Han realised, he found himself a cheerleader.
