A little thing my brain came up with while i was trying to sleep.

Tw: cheating (not really but close? Emotional cheating? ), arranged marriage, non-conforming to a timeline or actual canon (but it is a fanfic so, who cares ig?)
Years ago, you had a childhood sweetheart– growing up in the same city and spending your early childhood to teen years together, many people were expecting you two to end up married.
You loved him, you really did. But his love wasn't exclusively for you, that much was obvious when you spotted him giggling away with the other girls, or helping one carry her produces while she clung onto him while he let her, or smiled sweetly at the woman manning the fruit stand.
Okay, maybeeee you were reaching. Just a tad bit. Or you thought, until it slowly progessed into spotting him being kissed on the cheek, him kissing someone's hand, someone wrapping their hands on his waist– you had enough. And when you confronted him, he called you jealous, told you you were overreacting– as if asking for him to put up boundaries since he had a significant other was too much.
You broke up without so much as a thought. Your brothers had long told you to, not liking the way they saw you so hurt, not liking how he would undermine your feelings (you had to stop them from coming after him a few times).
Whenever you crossed paths at the church or the square, his face would light up while yours fell as you ran away. On the off chance he did manage to catch you, he pleaded that he still loved you. that you were throwing away years built together.
You did. You would've liked to scream at him. You threw it away. Each time you let another person touch you intimately, each time you ignored my words, each time you disregarded my feelings.
No, you wouldn't waste anymore breath on him. So you simply smiled, and said with all your heart, "Fuck off."
That continued until suddenly you never ran into him again. You heard through the tavern goers that he had boarded a ship to some other nation you didn't care to figure which one. You expected to see him again, maybe a few years down the line, when both of you were older and more mature.
Never, did you expect though, that you'd see him stand next to the man you were set to marry.
When you met Kamisato Ayato and found yourselves kindred spirits, it wasn't long before you both saw the advantage of your union for both Mondastadt (you WERE one of mondstadt's uncrowned royalty, the youngest of the ragnvindr siblings) and Inazuma ( he was a powerful clan's and commision's head).
However, if he had sooner introduced you to the currently wide-eyed, horror-laden blonde he considered his most trusted retainer, perhaps you would've had more qualms with this union.
