el didn’t have to go away and i wish people would stop saying that. this is the same show that picked up and a dropped a whole plot line about russia opening up another portal to the upside down. all of season 3 and a whole plot line of season 4 is retconned if the US military just stops caring about the upside down. That makes el’s sacrifice for nothing because another government knows about the upside down and they could make another vecna if they tried hard enough. the russians really just showed up, pissed off, opened another portal, and then fucked off on home without explanation.
if we’re gonna make up plot lines with no regard for continuity then just pull a reason out of your ass to give the only character who deserves a happy ending, her happy ending. please. it really wasn’t that hard.
