He first noticed the subtle movement of the blanket shifting around him. There was very little movement ever felt in the bed, but Time was still aware when one of his partners would leave the bed. He paid no mind to the shuffling of feet against carpet and almost drifted back off to sleep again, content knowing that they would be back soon.

Until the door quietly closed and footsteps walked downstairs.

Well now Time was awake and curious.

Lifting his head from the pillow- the sunbeam highlighting dust motes in the air with how bright it was- and opened up his eye to look at the bright green numbers on the clock. He realized that it was much later in the morning then what he initially thought.

He contemplated behind closed eyelids if he wanted to actually wake up and move now or later. It was… nice, just to lay in bed and relax like this. But he also knew it would be best to get up and move, especially if there was breakfast to be eaten by his partner.

He pushed himself up from the bed and glanced over to see Warriors was still there. The man was still laying there, though from the subtle twitches of his hands and face proved he was waking up as well. A quick trip to the bathroom to take care of business, Time was dressed and taking the stairs slowly today, just basking in the quiet of the house.

He was greeted by the smell of fresh coffee and breakfast when he came downstairs, and then by seeing Paya standing at the stove. Her lilac-colored silk robe was undone and hanging down to her elbows and showed off her shoulders while she cooked. Time smiled fondly as he leaned against the doorframe, content to watch her for just a few more moments.

“Your coffee's ready, Time,” she greeted, not even turning to look back at him as she moved in the kitchen. He felt a fond chuckle escape his chest before he stepped in further. She turned to give him a half-asleep smile. “Breakfast should be ready in a bit, and I think you prefer my cooking over what Warriors makes for breakfast anyways.”

Time found himself laughing at her sass and could concede that Paya had gotten better at cooking as the years had gone by. No longer the shy, socially anxious young lady who was his neighbor, she now stood tall and proud as she had come into herself, and Time was immensely content to have her nearby. He leaned in to kiss her temple and grabbed his coffee and the mug that was Warriors’ tea, taking both with him to the table and srt them down.

Warriors came downstairs just as Paya was finished plating up breakfast, already commandeering the parts of the morning paper that Time had already finished reading as Paya plopped down with their plates.

Time listened quietly to the banter between Warriors and Paya, watching the verbal tennis match that held no actual heat behind the words. They laughed and poked and prodded, the genuine happiness in each other's eyes proved to Time that this new arrangement had been beneficial for all involved. His husband and their girlfriend living together and being something quite different that what the norms ever were.

If you're asking me what Link I'm most like, I'm caught between Twilight and Time personally. If we're talking canon, Twilight and I have the most in common. Raised rural, elder siblings, parentified/held above a pedestal (I love Rusl but why does he keep comparing his boy to Twilight big weird), everything he knew was upheaved and he was the only one who could even remotely fix it (personal issues that cropped up in February, if anyone reading really wants to know look in the last chapter of Last Link. Or it was the chapter before. One of the two.) also. Wolf. I'm such a wolf bitch. My first username that I kept for the longest time (before switching to my current handle) had the word wolf in it. I am such a wolf bitch I made an entire new species for LOZ just so I'd have a reason to make Twilight and Time MORE like wolves. Also I have such a fondness for the Hero of Time, and I love the songs, and Ilia reminds me a little of my girlfriend (sweet, loves animals, forgets shit constantly), and I would do ANYTHING TO HOLD A DOG RIGHT FUCKING NOW

But I also feel like I'm a lot like Time in the sense that I never had much of a childhood and by the time I could, it was already too late. A lot was burdened onto me at a young age and I had to grow up very, very quickly. I see the fanarts dictating Adult!Link with Child!Link still inside him and I'm like "god, it's me." Also I fuck with masks. Also he's a golden wolf in Twilight Princess so again, the wolf thing. I have less to back up Time, it's more so me looking at him and going "hey same pain" in a metaphorical sense.

Also, I asked my best friend and girlfriend what Link they thought I was and it was a resounding Twilight from the both of them.

Starlight (my best friend): You parent in a "You're being stupid fucking stop" type way which is very Twilight

Sage (my girlfriend): You also kind of have that farm boy butch personality, y’know? Like if Twilight were female, he’d probably look and act a lot like you do. The parenting is a funny perspective but I see it differently; you’re the cat wrangler

It’s such a high compliment to receive fanart, and this week is dragging me so it is even more appreciated right now.

Bro I ALWAYS have Sky thoughts.

Today's thought: Sky was the second person from Skyloft in-game who made it down to the Surface. Zelda had the help and guidance of surface-dweller Impa as she adjusted to the change in altitude, air pressure, etc. When Groose joined them on the Surface, he remained at the Sealed Grounds, likely exerting himself but not to the aerobic level that Sky was. And, to be fair, Groose also had an Impa to look out for him while he adjusted.

Sky did not. Sky kept pushing himself like crazy come hell or high water, never stopping, barely resting, and running himself into the ground until the very end of his journey.

When you move from an area of low altitude to high altitude, you run the risk of altitude sickness because O2 levels are much lower and your body works harder to transport oxygen. When you move from an area of higher altitude to lower, though, the opposite can happen. Your cardiovascular system is so hyped about the extra O2 pumping through your veins that you might overdo it. And I get the feeling that he reaaaally overdid it.

Twilight

Although he drinks coffee out of habit now, when he has the choice Twi will always reach for something sweeter. From our barista, "Only mildly cursing Twi's name, iced matchas are a pain to make if the barista is a fucking idiot."

Sky

He's a simple boy with simple desires. He doesn't drink coffee, and Sunny introduced him to this one. "Basic ass bitch. Second least-offensive, it doesn't take that long to make and I can pour it with my eyes closed. Will separate if made by a stupid barista, but Sky's too nice to complain if it looks weird. Still tastes the same, just gotta swirl it more often."

Four

For when all the guys in your head can't agree, this sure is a... compromise? "I am cursing all four of him, what the fuck even is this bullshit. IT WILL SEPARATE. THERE IS NOTHING HOLDING THIS TOGETHER. I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT THE BASE OF THE FUCKING DRINK IS. WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT."

Wind

Just a little something to get him through an afternoon/evening/overnight/next morning of streaming ig. "No one is measuring those scoops. I'm pouring java chips in there and hoping for the best. I'll probably have to blend it twice. I will not."

Warriors

His usual, simple and sweet with a little spice, and he likes it dirty when he orders it out. "He'd order it without water, because this is a concentrate that gets watered down to make it go farther. He would also ask for the chai to be steamed with the milk (the barista will tell him no. the barista is lying. the barista that likes wars (me) does it for him every time). Blonde shot, both because he thinks its funny and also it tastes better. Judging him for the brulee topping, that's a holiday thing."

Legend

I call this the 'crash my car just to feel something' drink. "That's just coffee. That's literally just. 12oz of espresso (if the machine is pulling correctly, which it is not), 8oz of water. We have to queue up six double shots and everyone hates him. They mock his one Splenda. Someone definitely puts a double shot in a cup of dark roast at least once a week. If Legend is mean to the baristas, he's getting decaf and that's a fucking fact."

Hyrule

Listen. Someone handed him the app. He panicked. When he orders at work it's usually him dictating to someone else because he's too freakin' busy to put it in himself. He doesn't know how he did this. NO ONE knows how he did this. "Gets a kiss on the forehead. Takes like maybe a minute start to finish."

Wild

His experimental nature in the culinary arts is really showing here. "No one is making this drink like they should. White chocolate and "line cup mocha" are both going into the milk. Which is also sweet cream. Which means the steamer is going to scream and no one is going to like it. 50/50 on the toppings making it because it's busy and those are on the cold bar and no one wants to step across the line for that. Not the most egregious sweet-tooth drink but he is definitely getting side-eyed for the classic syrup addition. The mocha and peppermint cut it, but it's still a lot of syrup... like. Two inches at least."
