But let’s be clear: the system of race-based chattel slavery—the kind that turned human beings into property for generations—was built, expanded, and violently enforced by European and American powers.

You don’t get to erase centuries of oppression by cherry-picking fragments of history and flipping the blame onto the very people who suffered under it.

That’s not truth. That’s deflection.
