#Repost from our conservation friends at @vegan4fauna @download.ins --- Hunting nearly wiped out the entire black bear population in the State of Missouri over a hundred years ago. It has taken over a century for the bears who are still recovering to reach only an estimated 540-840 black bears. The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) has now put forth a proposal to reopen a bear hunting season. Why? Because they want to offer Missouri hunters an opportunity to "harvest" a bear. I visited a few of the hunting MO hunting pages on FB, and I found that the majority of hunters opposed opening up a bear hunting season. They believe the numbers are to low. So why is MDC pushing for a bear hunt? Please complete the action items listed on our event page. You can break it up over the next few days, but remember, the deadline is June 5, 2020. https://www.facebook.com/events/656135548576677/ Together we can stop the hunt before it starts. https://www.beardefenders.org/ #beardefender #oneprotest #stopthehunt #protectwildlife #animaladvocate #vegan #stoptrophyhunting #SayNoToMissouriBearHunt https://www.instagram.com/p/CA2wnPfBp8s/?igshid=lrmk3atk2cnd
