Lol, all fun aside, this is actually very rare behavior to have two white sharks this close to each other. Normally white sharks are considered more of a nomadic and solitary animal. However my good friend @abc4explore has documented strong social dynamics with juvenile white sharks in remote parts of Australia. Andrew Fox at @rodneyfoxsharkexpeditions has also shared photos with me of what he is calling white shark clans, groups of white sharks that come in at the same time in the Neptune islands. Also Dr Hoyos @amaukua has documented large female white sharks only letting one male come and feast on her kill out of a group white sharks all wanting to have a go at the kill in Guadalupe island. @oceanramsey has documented multiple white sharks using cooperative hunting methods. This photo here was taken in the depths at Guadalupe by the talented @david_valencia_photography There is so much that we don’t know about white sharks and their social system are far more complexed than we currently understand.
