I remember sitting quietly amongst the wilderness of Katmai National Park, Alaska, and watching the moisture evaporate from its fur in the first, golden light of dawn. Today, I am calling on my American friends – you have a tremendous opportunity at your fingertips. Pebble Mine, a massive, open-pit project in Bristol Bay, is on the verge of being approved by the EPA. This region is home to thousands of bears, and public pressure to cancel the project is steadily mounting – there is still a chance you can shut this thing down.
