These are dangerous times but now the veil has been lifted. Tucker Carlson who has at least 3.3 million viewers a year according to the LA Times, has officially endorsed and fawned over the extremely ignorant and hateful Chaya Raichik of the prominent right wing media platform Libs of TikTok. Raichik explicitly says all LGBTQ people are evil, which is what the Nazis in Europe in the 1930s and 40s said about the Jewish community, the Queer community, and any Socialist or Artistic community that Hitler declared “degenerative” or “degenerate art.” The billionaire owner of Twitter, Elon Musk frequently retweets Libs of TikTok which has spread baseless lies and conspiracies that somehow the LGBTQ community are an enemy towards kids in school, brainwash and groom kids because being somehow all the LGBTQ community are groomers, and pedophiles. Raichik and the right wing have a social media platform that is a hate and fear machine against people like me, and people who are Trans especially. It is extremely difficult as it has been throughout history for queer and trans kids and people to be open with themselves and their identities. Raichik has had her followers spread bomb threats to children’s hospitals, has attacked schools, and has had teachers fired etc. As Florida Governor Ron DeSantis passed the “Don’t say gay” bills which has made it even more difficult for queer kids to feel okay being themselves. The prevalence of suicide has always been among the LGBTQ community because of truly evil, ignorant, and hateful bigots like Raichik, Carlson, and DeSantis. I’m sad and disgusted that so many Republicans support and encourage these loathsome bigots. In 2022 alone, state legislatures around the U.S. proposed hundreds of “don’t say gay” bills. When someone says one entire community of people are evil or a “cult” according to Raichik.
