There is no bigger ache in the world than seeing the ones you love suffer, Caitlyn's panic attacks came, and every time they did Violet felt helpless, she knew she couldn't prevent them could only coax her out of them, and be there for the aftermath and she would always be there picking up those pieces she never lets anyone see when her frame practically falls into her, collapsing into a vice grip her body trembling and her legs falter... "Woaah there.." Vi catches her with ease, they had done this dance many times and she had become accustomed to how to handle this, Lifting her up like dead weight in her arms she brings her over to the soft couch in her room, sitting down with her and cradling her gently. "Yer' okay cupcake... breathe with me" She took Caitlyn's smaller hand and placed it on the small of her stomach muscles, She began to breathe slowly, Inhaling and exhaling deeply so Cait could feel the movement in her belly. "Feel my breath and match it" Her tone is soft and slow so she can hear the words.

He could have managed to decipher it; yet his ears were so preoccupied with noise and filtering some input out. Minding the team, their breathing and tendency for speech. All the noises of home that were like a nice warm blanket on a cold day. Even with constant awareness of the uniform, mask as well the whole mission on his psyche.

Staring at her now felt like a reminder of old wounds that hadn't yet healed—nor would they ever, most likely. Everything she left behind was precious to her but she knew it was best for everyone that she never look back moving forward. Despite sticking to that mindset a part of her assumed that even if she wasn't actively looking for anyone, pieces of her past may still find her. It was a slim chance, she thought, so long as she put enough distance between them and some of the luck she's never had. It's never really been clear which one of the stubborn asses would make the trip but now she finally has an answer, hence the greeting. "There you are."

Physically speaking her hair's grown—not even close to the length of her braids but cut above her shoulders was good enough. If hair were the only indication of her change then she was on a roll. Caitlyn being the one to seek her out should have surprised her more, it's still surprising, but she assumes Vi has something to do with it. It's hard to make ample judgement of Caitlyn's reasons for seeking her out beyond Vi's influence (and the near death experiences probably didn't help) but people change, right? She's working on a lot of things, but still wasn't quite where she needed to be. Voices still spoke, memories still haunt her, but at the very least she could seek solace in the fact that everyone she cared about seemed better off.

Jinx scoffed as her eyes drifted to the side, not bothering to look at Caitlyn as they reluctantly stood side by side right now. Geez, Pilties really thought the world revolved around them. Typical. Even now, Caitlyn had to try and find a way to spin this about her. If Jinx was intent on making her life a living Hell, she wouldn't have to guess. She'd know— but Jinx had enough on her plate as it is, she didn't have time to think something up to screw her over. At least for now.

emery's hand drops   immediately,   almost on instinct at the demand. her brows pull together as she searches for words to stop this from turning out any   worse.         ❛    i'm sorry,    ❜        she says quickly, not really thinking as she takes in the other's expression,  her presence.  it wasn't hard to know this was different from any argument they'd had before. any spat between them that was pretty   easily   remedied with a   favorite snack and apology.   this was far more extreme than that. and it was   n a i v e   to think it would have been anything else. what else should she expect? things were beginning to look   awfully   terrible. the money finally being   n o t i c e d ,   skepticism of where it went. and she'd done that, right under the noses of the people she'd grown to care about. it would be worse than naive,   blatantly foolish   to assume there wouldn't be   tension.  confusion.   hurt. anger. but she'd hope to at least avoid this.   being left alone.        ❛    cait, you know it  ...  it wasn't personal.    ❜
