don't post show pictures on tumblr so much anymore but i really love this picture i got of stoneburner last night
Stoneburner with Pain Generator Tonight (Aug 18) in Arlington (Clarendon), VA.
Art advice from Steven Archer:
These are a set of bases I made to make test RITAC mono prints.
They are satisfying in their own right. It’s nice when proto art looks like actual art.
Ingredients:
Magazine board bases (like comic boards but bigger)
Page from a popular mechanics DIY book.
Black acrylic air brush paint pushed around with a piece of cardboard.
White glue spread with a piece of sheet metal.
Need interesting frames for some photos or some shit?
Here’s a cool way to make some.
Tragically I am not motivated to create a home making channel like my buddy V.
But if I did it would probably be “burn your home down and use the remains to make art.”
Fuck you for coming to my ted talk.
*pro tip.
Do the bases in acrylic and you can use oil or acrylic later. It does not work the other way around. Because, oil and water don’t mix, natch.
Whoo, Stoneburner's on the way! After running a 10-session sci-fantasy campaign where I (successfully!) kludged Tales of the Burned Stones into a Stoneburner-esque setting, I'm so stoked to be able to actually get my hands on a physical copy.

A Preview Review of... Stoneburner!
It’s time for some Canadian Content everyone! Fari RPGs is based out of Quebec, and they’ve been smashing it out of the park routinely since their debut game, Charge! back in 2021. They’re latest game is in alpha level development, and headed to Kickstarter on April 11th, so let’s dive into some pre-release goodness! (more…) “”

The Spellwinder sat, hunched at his makeshift workbench, carving with a frenetic focus.
He'd been there for hours.
The team stood careful watch. Any disruption could break the spell of careful attention being woven, line by line, hammerblow by hammerblow, in magic-bound runes of ancient tradition.
Their time was running short; the subtle, crafty enemy was drawing ever nearer. The isolated hunters had become the isolated prey.
There was no time for rest. The Spellwinder wiped sweat from his brow, adjusted his greenlamp, and toiled on.
(I just discovered the Stoneburner TTRPG, and holy beans the aesthetic is *mwah*)

superhero theme songs
I picture a 90s Marvel Team-Up (tm). Spider-man takes the lead and Wolverine is there to sell copies because Deadpool hasn't eclipsed him yet. It's a crossover in the pages of Darkhawk and Sleepwalker because that's what's not selling...
Spidey: Okay, when we bust through that window I'll mash go on my tape deck and play my theme song... wait, do any of you have a theme song?
Logan: About half a dozen songs have been written about me in half a dozen genres but do they ever ask me before hand? No. *puffs cigar* I like country. If Randy Travis wants to make a song about me I'll give him the rights.
Spidey: Aren't you Canadian? What about Shania Twain?
Logan: *grunts* Yeah, okay, she'll do. I'd like to dye her hair red and call her darlin'... *eyes grow distant*
Spidey: Ooookay, what about your theme song, DH?
Logan: Who are you, again?
Darkhawk: Darkhawk, sir. We were in the Secret Defenders together.
Logan: Are you sure? You look like an amalgam of me an' Webhead here. Is this a cosmic event? Are we in Infinity Warps or something?
Darkhawk: Spidey, your song is fine. I don't, ah, I don't have one yet.
Spidey: What about your movie? No? TV show? Video game? You have zero secondary media?
Darkhawk: ...My claw was in an episode of Fantastic Four.
Logan: If you call that a claw, bub.
Sleepwalker: I have a theme song.
Logan: That weren't no Shania Twain!
Darkhawk: That is sooo anachronistic.
Spidey: Let's, ah, workshop this a bit. The Wallflowers have a song called Sleepwalker. It's much more melodic.
Darkhawk: Yeah! That's way less anachronistic.
Sleepwalker, alone in a crowd, would slow blink if he could blink at all: Your theme song shall be sufficient. Let us *finger quotes* crash this *finger quotes* party as is the human expression.
Everyone: *shudders*
