STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. (AP) — The Georgia chapter of a Confederacy group filed a lawsuit Tuesday against a state park with the largest Confederate monument in the country, arguing officials broke state law by planning an exhibit on ties to slavery, segregation and white supremacy.
Stone Mountain's massive carving depicts Confederate President Jefferson Davis, Gen. Robert E. Lee and Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson on horseback. Critics who have long pushed for changes say the monument enshrines the “Lost Cause” mythology that romanticizes the Confederate cause as a state's rights struggle, but state law protects the carving from any changes.

may all your flies be juicy or happy aphelion bathroom guardian spider cousin
on friday, i saw the new native shrubs fallie planted outside his front window, blueberries, beautyberries, and a shrubby st. john's wort. he's slowly digging out the privet and english ivy around his house and replacing them with stuff from the native plant rescues where he volunteers. i'm looking forward to watching how it changes over the months and years
he and i sat for a while and ate faux-fil-a, drank a fruit punch four loko out of hurricane glasses with little umbrellas, and shared our stories from the week
i've lost the ability to appreciate the spectacle of the fireworks. maybe it will come back if i don't hold on too tightly. probably, i will be ok either way
we had thousands of lightning strikes in the area on saturday night. i woke up to find boba tucked hard against my pillow. when she was little she slept there every night, but she outgrew it years ago
i'm trying to stop using some words that mean too many things. words that've grown broad i can't be sure what other people are hearing, so diluted, they've lost all taste. just a handful of words. it's nothing serious, just a game, or maybe an experiment. watching what words fill the gaps
we walked up stone mountain early sunday morning. we had company, unaccustomed to the climb, so we went much slower than i usually would. i wandered all around while they rested on the way, and i got to notice things i hadn't seen since the kids were little. it was a nice morning
last night, i dreamt that there was a delivery man on the street in front of the house. he needed the neighbor's signature before he could leave, but the neighbor was missing. some people thought the neighbor was just out taking a walk, but others thought maybe in the hospital, speech stolen by a stroke, or maybe in europe on business. after a few days the delivery man looked ragged from sleeping on the ground outside his van. i emptied out the garage and built him a little room. when it was done he laid down on the little bed in the little room, went to sleep, and in the dream at least, he never woke up
HI anon!! So glad you asked and I'm sorry it took so long to respond. We are still waiting for the proper 'flyer' to advertise that we will be there so I'm gonna just share an edited version until then!
Charlie's Collectible Show aka CCS is a large, indoor market in Stone Mountain Georgia, the place is basically one giant dealer's hall full of artists and collectors, featuring numerous vendors selling a wide variety of items like comics, sports cards, TCGs (Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!), video games, Funko Pops, action figures, and anime merchandise on top of having a large amount of artists selling their creations too. It operates on weekends with special events and themed days, offering a flea market-style experience with a side of a convention atmosphere, with free entry and parking!!
Me and my friends had been going for a bit and finally decided to group together and sell art at collabed table!! So if you live in the Atlanta area or even close by enough to stop by on June 6 or 7? You totally should!
hey so i'm insane and went back to my dead fictional husband's grave with more offerings, including:
- crystals (one that's supposed to banish nightmares and another for peace and closure; one was just a cool skull i thought he'd like)
- a ring (i have the matching one)
- crystal packet for "true love"
- a rock that says "forever" on it
by the way, if you're the person who left the shirt and notice i moved it, i'm sorry. it was super duper moldy and nasty. (don't worry, i put the gifts that were on it and not ruined on the stone...except for the disgusting waffle)
and if you're the person who took my binder with my letters from my OCs (which took fucking hours to make), fuck you 🖤

The rock that the stone mountain confederate monument is carved into is made of quartz monzonite.
On a COMPLETELY UNRELATED NOTE quartz monzonite can be dissolved by hydrofluoric acid or heated caustic soda (commonly known as lye) both of which are easily attainable products.
I went to Kennesaw Mountain today!! You can see Stone Mountain from the top, which is what I have circled so you all can see it easily. I almost died walking up the hill whilst carrying a large stick. It was so heavy and it’s so hot out! I was pretending to be Gandalf ofc! 🧙🏻♂️⛰️🍃
