I made a thing!
I've been stitching patterns that had no backstitching for ages, so I decided to make up for it. I forgot how much fun blackwork is. Stitched up pretty quick too, took me less than a week.
The pattern is Dinosaur Safari by PatchyAtBestCo on Etsy. I altered it slightly with a different background for the TRex skull.
This. Is my pride and joy. A gift for my dad, who played Zork with me when I was a kid, and with his dad when he was a kid. I designed this pattern myself and had a great time puzzling out how to hide the glow in the dark letters!

Pattern: “West of House” by me Fabric: 2x1 on 18ct Blue-Grey Aida Started: 11/27/2021 Finished: 12/25/2021
Making progress on my scrap bookmark! When it’s done I want to design some other scrap thread projects. I think a big negative space project could be super fun with scrap thread, but I need to think of what I want the negative space to be.
I'm having surgery next week
I'm getting ready for that, and for a big shop update next month. Through Wednesday, the entire shop is 25% off.

1st Time Camping
My youngest brother had his very first camping experience recently! My other brother (who enjoys outdoor adventures) helped him to prepare, teaching him his ways... They pitched up in the garden, made hot chocolate, and got comfortable...
It just so happened to be a beautiful clear night, so wee bro got to learn about the stars too, which became one of his favourite parts!
This was a huge deal for him, so I wanted to make something special, to mark his achievement, and commemorate the experience. So I made him a Camping Badge! Personalised for him, featuring his cuddly cat, steaming hot chocolate, the stars he learned about, and one of our resident hedgehogs wandering by.
He's so pleased with his badge, he wants to make himself a sash so he can wear it proudly on special occasions awwwww!
Made in 2025, using my own pattern. Cross stitch on 8 count AIDA with mainly 6 strands (8 for the sky, 2 for backstitch and French knots). Backed with midweight calico.
based on my ultimate favorite image
