🌿Columbia silkmoth (Hyalophora Columbia)🌿

One of my favorite commissions :)

Starting 2026 with some repetitive cross stich froggies. Really needed some comforting work while it's too hot to knit in summer, so came up with these cute frog patterns based on the designs from my needle books.

Came upon the set of frames in an opshop, so I thought they're meant to be ✌️🐸🐸✌️(even though I've planned something more elaborate initially).

The initial straw hat frog was a bit short for the 10x15 frame, so I've revised it to fit the exact size - the pattern is for to the new size (also, changed the colour of the frame around it - feel, like green will work better).

I've had some dye kicking around, so I've dyed the aida canvasses with what I had, so obviously, the colour combo is to fit just that.

The first part of the “Artistic Hand Embroidery Techniques” workshop series is already behind us! 😁

During yesterday’s meeting we explored the backstitch embroidery technique – one of the fundamental hand-embroidery techniques. There was lots of focus, creativity, and great energy while working together.
