Bluff Knoll, one of the highest mountains in Western Australia, which is predominantly flat. The day before this photo I climbed this mountain, but sadly there was not a single cloud in sight. Made a great view, but clouds do certainly make sunrises more spectacular 🙂 When I came back the next day just to the foot of the mountain, it was beautifully covered in clouds. The Stirling Ranges used to be very green, overgrown with lush bushland, but sadly a bushfire burned down more than a third of the park in the last days of 2019. The Ranges are slowly recovering, but it will take very long time to fully recover. It is definitely a beautiful hike and can recommend it if you are in the area! One if the best ways is to stay at the Stirling Range Retreat camping and then go early in the morning before sunrise. Who likes to climb mountains? Looking back 3years ago on a very blustery October day a group of us went for a walk up Bluff Knoll. We had loads of fun especially the night before staying at the Stirling Range Retreat. Conquering Mount Toolbrunup in the Stirling Range National Park. From the summit you can see over the Bluff Knoll, the highest point in Western Australia. Although Toolbrunup isn’t the highest in the state, it is arguably the most difficult climb in the Stirling Range National Park with alot of rock scrambling and vertical rockwall climbing! Buuuuut we made it and the views from the top were so worth the climb. One of our favourite places in Aus! June 2017
