Okay, so I only got into Hollyoaks like 6 months ago and I'm currently at the end of 2012, so quite literally years from being caught up on the show. But every once in a while I'll pop into the main Hollyoaks tag to see what's going on currently, and I'm often flummoxed. But nothing confuses me more than the tiny bits of information I have about the Lucas/Dillon/Ste situation. So if you feel like it, would you explain to me what the hell is going on there?
This is the information I think I know.
Lucas and Dillon were dating
Ste went to prison? For something?
Dillon confessed he had feelings for Ste, I think
Lucas was abusing Ste?
Ste got arrested and claimed that he was the one abusing Lucas, but Dillon said it was the reverse
And now Dillon and Ste are kissing
I was mostly vibing with not knowing what was happening until that last point and now I need someone to tell me what is going on.
Oh god, okay. Hang tight.
So, we start with Lucas being groomed by his headteacher into conversion therapy. Dillon figures this out and tries to help. (Important to note that Lucas beat Dillon nearly to death during the HO Pride.) Lucas gets help after nearly killing himself while self-harming. Lucas and Dillon get together. Ste did not go to prison (I don’t think??) but was in court for accidentally killing Ella while trying to drive Leah to hospital because she was drunk and dying. We skip ahead a year. Lucas went to young offenders for beating up JJ after it came out he was sexually abusing Frankie (JJ’s twin sister). While Lucas was inside, Dillon slept with Leah and got her pregnant. They have a baby called James now. Lucas and Dillon broke up over this. Also, in that year, Ste was in a coma after his car blew up. Ste is awake now. He has psychosis. He gets better. Dillon is groomed by Ste’s boyfriend, Rex, and is trafficked. Lucas tries to help but has a brain tumor. He has surgery. Brain tumor gone. He gets out of hospital, and Dillon is no longer being trafficked. Lucas starts abusing Ste (presumed to be brain tumor related initially, not sure anymore) because he blames Ste for breaking up him and Dillon (part of this is true but part is also down to the lingering effects of conversion therapy, I feel). Lucas and Dillon get back together. Dillon nearly relapses but Ste helps him. Dillon thinks he’s in love with Ste. Ste rejects him. Some stuff happns in between, I can’t remember, but Lucas tries to hit Ste with a hammer and Ste ends up kidnapped by Jez. Lucas claims Ste was abusing him. Ste is freed. Lucas and Dillon get back together again. They go to Liverpool and Dillon tells Frankie he doesn’t love Lucas. Lucas takes drugs and nearly kills himself, so Dillon stays with him. Ste shows up in Liverpool and he and Dillon kiss. They get hit by a car. They’re both fine. Dillon breaks up with Lucas. Lucas hits Ste and Dillon witnesses it. Lucas tells Leela that Ste was abusing him. Leela calls the police. Ste is arrested and says he was abusing Lucas because he blames himself for Lucas’s situation. Ste is released. Ste and Dillon have sex. My memory goes a little foggy on the recent stuff, but that’s the gist!
