Finding something that shouldn’t be there. . .

Half way through this, I realized that putting characters/places from a show that people would vaguely remember/is semi obscure into a place that tries it’s best to recreate said people and places but can’t entirely is kinda strangely poetic in a nostalgic, tragic sense. . .
Anyways, two out of four of these are definitely based off of the film while the rest was just wanting to semi recreate a location in the backrooms etc.
Overall I’ll definitely be doing a part two. ^ ^
What if there was a trend of making a Still Life version of yourself?
Of confronting your worst facets, imaginary or very-much-real, in the way that the Backrooms does?
I mean, most who’ve perused the interwebs in the past couple of years have seen AI-generated images with 6 fingers and whack faces.
And that’s basically Still Lives for you, so I think drawing one (or making one out of origami or in Blender or whatever you want) would be fairly easy?
IDK, just an idea! Of course, in my case, we’d have to make two. Or a two-headed Still Life?
Finally watching the Backrooms (2026) and I have never felt so genuinely uncomfortable watching something.
Clark sitting across from Mary with the Still Lives subtly moving and making them repeat their earlier conversation sparks primal fear within me.

BACKROOMS (2026) SPOILERS
The interesting, yet sad thing is that, in the end Mary actually gets through to Clark. When Mary 'breaks character' he doesn't hit her (like some assume he did to Barbara from how she holds her head), Clark stops berating her, actually finds value in what she's saying, let's her go & tries to besweige the Captain that she's here to help. Not before admitting to himself that he's happiest, or more accurately the most soothed, right where he is. Then the Captain eats Clark (fitting for a Director who got his start making Attack on Titanâ„¢ fan animations), just as Clark ate the still lives. To self medicate his pain Clark consumed his memories, and the memories in turn consumed him. As above, so below.
