As sweet as that Steve and Natasha gif after Peggy’s funeral is, it makes me so mad because Steve wasn’t alone. Sam Wilson has been by his side the entire time. Maybe if fandom didn’t sleep on my amazing winged angel with the cheekbones and biceps and sarcasm, I wouldn’t get so salty about it.

I agree with you a billion percent there - Steve totally had Sam with him, and Sam’s been by his side through it all. But, in Nat’s defense, she didn’t come to the funeral until the end, so she might not have seen Sam. And, from what we’ve seen, Sam and Steve aren’t exactly physically affectionate with each other, so Steve might not have felt comfortable getting the hug he desperately needed from Sam.

Sam is amazing and loyal and the goddamn best, but Steve’s PTSD literally needs a fucking village of people to manage, so I’m glad he’s got Sam and Nat and Bucky to provide a shoulder for him in different ways. :)
