...Hm? By the glassy walkway of the Comet Observatory’s entrance would a multicolored crowd of Lumas aplenty have gathered. Such entrance continuing to fill as all across the ship, nubs were waved for friends and family to follow. Domes emptied of any possible inhabitants, the plentiful paths of the Observatory all rocked with ‘foot’ traffic as the lot of Lumas rushed for this growing scene.
For there stood the Mother of the Cosmos and another one of her children, the latter hovering right by her side, both holding still with backs toward the gathering crowd. Sights seemed set on a rather ordinary section of space... and while it was beautiful, it didn’t seem like a view worthy of the mass of people who had seen it for their entire lives. Though despite it, that excitable energy still hadn’t left. In fact, it only rose as realization of what the situation was snapped into place.
A transformation. It was time for a Luma’s transformation into a planet.
There was no speech, there were no formalities. Nor was it even a revered custom upon the Observatory to collect like a party about to watch a friend do the high-dive. No, it was mere support. A raw, contagious excitement in seeing a loved one about to achieve what they were always building up to be. Proud to see them make it, sad to see them go, determined to one day stand where they did now.
But currently, a proper sendoff was all they needed. And it was a sendoff they were ready for. To Rosalina did the shimmering Luma turn, body nodding as attention pulled away from the vacant lot of space. Then, with the speed of a streaking comet, they bounded into their mother’s arms, spun with stardust flaking from their body, nuzzled her cheek, laughed a joyous laugh, and simply basked in her touch for what felt like forever.
...Once their hug finally broke, a wave was given to the crowd, of course! And to that, cheers, waves, and cries of love back in spades. Yes, this was no Star Road, this world ran on love, that much was blatantly clear.
Now, an inhale... an exhale... a turn back toward the stars, and... a shining takeoff! Stardust traced as their comet tail, their light becoming that of a brilliant glimmer. And then faster than light, faster than the strongest Launch Star in existence, they flew into the vacuum of space, becoming but a far and distant twinkling shimmer. One that, with one final flash, still exuded all the brightness needed to soak the Observatory in its entirety, eyes required to shut so not to go entirely blind.
Then, as eyes opened with a collective flutter, there stood a brand new amber-colored planet. The cheers from there on were thunderous~.
