Liam’s been staring at the back of Theo’s head for almost the entirety of their break. He’s sitting with a small group of people, though one of them keeps glancing over their shoulder towards Mason. Not that that’s important to him right now, Mason can make heart eyes at whoever he wants as long as it isn’t his step brother. They’ve been stepsiblings for a couple of years now, Theo was there at Devonford with him, though his reaction to Liam smashing up the coach’s car was far different from everyone else. He’d laughed and praised him, told him he’d picked a better outlet instead of smashing his coach’s face in. Not that anyone else had been around to hear him say those things, Theo can’t risk their parents finding out that they get along or something stupid like that. He can feel that same rage bubbling underneath his skin as he watches Tracy laugh at some stupid joke that his brother has told. 

His brother.

His. 

Liam has long since accepted that the way he feels towards Theo is anything but brotherly. His feelings towards Mason are that of a brother, but his feelings towards Theo are downright possessive. 

“Dude, stop staring.” Mason bumps his arm, temporarily pulling his attention away. He shoots him an ineffective glare. 

“I’m not staring.” He tries to defend, but it falls flat even to his own ears.

“Sure, you just happen to be looking very intensely in Theo’s general direction.” Liam’s lip starts to lift up in a snarl before the lunch bell rings. He glances over and catches Theo’s eyes. He watches the way his full lips curve up into a smirk as he walks closer to Tracy, like he’s taunting him. He wishes that they ran in the same circle of friends, that he would sit with him during lunch and give him his attention. Instead, he ignores him during school hours and mostly at home too unless it’s just the two of them. Which is pretty often with the hours that their parents work, but it’s not enough.

He wants to be the sole focus of his attention.
