I just can't decide whether Stebbins would be the constantly exhausted night shift emergency room charge nurse or the stoic hardass fire chief

The only real idea I have for this is a brief scene in which Harkness pulls some "wow its real quiet tonight" and is promptly yelled at by everyone and then proven terribly wrong

This fic is for Day 3 of The Long Walk Rarepairs Week, run by my friend @collie-parkers-carbine!

Here's a canon compliant gavribbins fic! This poly ship fascinates me.

It's rated M on the safe side for sex jokes and Stebbins (for mischievous rabbit reasons) saying Ray wants to marry his own mom.

Summary: 

Stebbins has a lot of complicated thoughts and feelings about Garraty and McVries that boils down to this: he wants them to live. And because of that, he pushes Garraty's buttons to light that fire inside him, to bolster him and McVries both.

Their dynamic is really interesting to me because they only spend time together near the end of the book, and by McVries telling Garraty he’s the only one Stebbins will speak to I feel like that means McVries might’ve tried to talk to him at some point during the walk.

There’s also the whole scene where him and Stebbins have their heads together and wordlessly part to let Garraty walk with them. Overall, I think that McVries found Stebbins interesting but not to the obsessive extent of Garraty, and that Stebbins wasn’t really interested in McVries until they had their forced bonding moment where Stebbins trauma dumped about his father in front of McVries while talking to Garraty.
