i just finished kotor2 and DAMN OKAY THAT WAS GOOD (even though i think i got the mid ending bc i don't think a game has ever made me feel this empty after finishing it lmao) also came here mainly to tell you i now completely understand why you're a kreia stan <3 she is the best worstie ever i love her
yesssss, im so so glad!!! kotor 2 has to be number one on my list of "stories that are so meaningful to me but very hard to pitch"... cause it's a star wars video games, and it plays with that, with your expectations of what a star wars story will be like and what kind of characters you'll encounter there. like i completely missed the point of Atton the first time, i was fooled by his facade and never looked deeper. i really like him now, but i can't rob people of that surprise and explain his deal, right? it would be no fun
but i think the story the main character, the jedi exile, is one of my favorite RPGs backstory ever. and the way the companions relate to the exile and what she's done, crazy good
and Kreia is just straight up the character of all times, especially if you play as a woman. i really do think the jedi exile being female adds layers of depth to this story, with Kreia and with Atris especially. her writing and voice acting is superb... i love that she's so cunning and such a twisted mastermind, so ruthless in the pursuit of her goals, but also is fooled by Atton for a bit (showing her pride can mislead her!) and the suggestion at times that she's hiding her weaknesses from the exile. when the character who acts all powerful and removed is suggested to still have some humanity?
i just love stories about people who wear masks and/or are masks and facades, and people who like that should definitely give kotor 2 a try, even if they don't like star wars
