Market recovery continues with steady weekly gains
SBR maintained its upward momentum this week, adding Rs 4/kg and extending the recovery that has unfolded through the past month. Indian SBR prices in the Ahmedabad domestic market closed at Rs 264/kg on 6 August, compared with Rs 260/kg a week earlier. Although the market strengthened further, daily trading remained orderly, with only limited fluctuations observed between sessions.
The latest move places the market close to its highest level in recent months after a gradual improvement during July. Approximately one month ago, prices stood at Rs 244/kg, leaving the market Rs 20/kg higher over that period. Over the past six months, values recovered from a low near Rs 168/kg, demonstrating a sustained rebuilding process rather than abrupt swings. Indian SBR prices have therefore returned to levels not seen during much of the first half of the year. Compared with the same week last year, when values were around Rs 172/kg, SBR prices in India remain significantly stronger. Current technical reference levels indicate support around Rs 260/kg and resistance near Rs 264/kg, providing a useful framework for ongoing market assessments.
