Cropper & Conte: 2 guitar playing Steves! One of my all time guitar heroes, Steve Cropper & me backstage after a Booker T & The MGs show at The Beacon Theater in NYC circa 1990-91. Cropper played on some of the greatest R&B /soul records of all time by Sam & Dave, Otis Redding and Booker T & The MGs of course (and The Blues Brothers.) He was part of that wonderful house band at Stax Records with Duck Dunn, Al Jackson & Booker T. So many hits!! Album Number Three Hundred Thirty. “Home” is the debut album by husband-and-wife singers Delaney & Bonnie, released on the Stax label. Most of the album was recorded at Stax Studios in Memphis, Tennessee, from February to November 1968, with additional overdubs in July 1969, and features many of Stax's house musicians, including #DonaldDuckDunn, #stevecropper, #BookerTJones, and #IsaacHayes. My copy is on #staxrecords - STS-2026. (The only Stax Records in my collection.) FYI - #delaneyandbonnie were an American duo of singer-songwriters #delaneybramlett and #bonniebramlett.
