I would love to know why the Canadian Census is asking people about their gender and sexuality.... I would love to know what that information is for.... In this political climate....
And for the record, they're not asking "how many people in your household are queer/trans" and giving you an opt out.
They're asking things like:
"what is the gender identity of LEGAL NAME?"
followed immediately by:
"what is the assigned sex of LEGAL NAME?"
They're asking which specific members of your household are trans and in which way. surely this can only be helpful and not used for nefarious purposes whatsoever....
(and also they dropped the T from the LGBTQ+ acronyms on their website)
