Queen Camilla is wearing the historic Kent Amethyst Necklace and matching earrings for the first time tonight at the state banquet for day 2 of the American State Visit.

They are part of the oldest set of jewellery in the royal collection and was owned by Queen Victoria's mother, the Duchess of Kent.

His Imperial Majesty Napoléon V arrived in Thornolia today for the State Visit He is undertaking to the Kingdom at the invitation of His Majesty King Aurélien of Thornolia. The Emperor arrived at the Port Olivier aboard L'Aigle, the Imperial yacht of the House of Simparte, where He was welcomed on behalf of the Thornolian Crown by Her Royal Highness Madame Royale Eleanor of Thornolia and His Royal Highness Monseigneur L'Épin Ernest of Thornolia. This State Visit reflects the longstanding excellence of relations between Francesim and Thornolia, as well as their shared desire to strengthen cooperation in the cultural, maritime, scientific, and economic fields. Upon His arrival, His Imperial Majesty received military honours before greeting the civil and military authorities in attendance, as well as the many citizens gathered at the harbour to welcome the French delegation. During this first day of the Visit, His Imperial Majesty will attend several official events hosted by the Thornolian Crown, including His investiture into the Ordre de la Salamandre and the State Banquet offered in His honour by Their Majesties the King and Queen of Thornolia. The State Visit will continue until 23 October and will include a number of engagements dedicated to the historic friendship between Francesim and Thornolia, as well as future opportunities for cooperation between the two nations. The Palais des Tuileries extends its warmest thanks to Their Majesties the King and Queen of Thornolia, as well as to all Thornolian authorities, for the welcome extended to His Imperial Majesty and the French delegation.

I just can’t think of any valid reasons it was suddenly dropped.

Which begs the questions why other royal women wear it just fine but why The Queen and The Princess of Wales can’t wear theirs?
