Nothing could beat the feeling when you personally engage in the wildlife world. I actually got the chance to meet the hawksbill sea turtles while on our trip to Malacca. And it was good to know that the hawksbill sea turtle also known for its legit alluring natural patterns on its shell even the pictures can’t really capture its beauty.
We were there, at the Malacca Turtle Information Centre to gain some knowledge regarding the turtles and how were the species doing today. Nearly all species of sea turtle are now classified as endangered, with three of the seven existing species being critically endangered. Human can be really inhumane for slaughtering the turtles for their eggs, meat, skin, and shells. The fact that they are just a form of innocent animals does not give us the right to exploit them as they deserve an equal amount of treatment just like we do. I almost teared up a little after seeing the vivid pictures of unlawful human activities occur in our world today, even in Malaysia.
As a responsible human being, I am trying my best to avoid producing many plastic wastes because potentially, it can be eaten by sea creatures therefore, harm sea turtles and other creatures that live there. While shopping, I made it a habit to always have my shopping bags with me for convenience purposes at the same time, being eco-friendly. Instead, use more reusable plastic ware as a substitution. I also participate in beach clean-ups and reduce plastic use to keep our beaches and ocean clean.
Remember, big things often have small beginnings. Starts now and make changes.
