Star Trek: Lower Decks 4x10 "Old Friends, New Planets (2)"

Robert Duncan McNeill as Nick Locarno. Impressive action sequences and strong ties to Next Generation continuity are the standouts. The use of the Orion warship was particularly jaw-dropping, and Captain Boimler was pretty darn badass. They really take Locarno to a dark place, but I’m okay with that. It basically works. Losing Tendi felt like an unnecessary cliffhanger. I expect them to resolve it quickly next season. 9/10

Star Trek: Lower Decks 4x09 "The Inner Fight (1)"

Absolutely superb. Best episode of the season, so far. Several mysteries of the story arc are resolved, and–more important–we find out what’s been going on with Mariner recently. Both a-story and b-story are clever. A lot of planning clearly went into the surprises/explanations delivered here. It’s funny, it’s action-packed, and it ends on a big cliffhanger. My 284th TV episode of 2026. Averaging 99 minutes of TV per day. 10/10

Star Trek: Lower Decks 4x08 "Caves"

★★★★★★★★☆☆

A tribute to all those times Star Trek characters have been in caves–or the same cave set?–over the years. Packed with decent jokes and a feelgood friendship vibe. Funniest character: Probably T'Ana. She cracks me up. Best flashback: Vendorians. I loved the way they were used in this episode. 8/10

Star Trek: Lower Decks 4x07 "A Few Badgeys More"

★★★★★★★★☆☆

Jeffrey Combs, Jack McBrayer. Badgey is back! And so are AGIMUS and Peanut Hamper. It’s a lot for one episode. Aside from the clutter, this is a funny episode. The AGIMUS storyline is easily the best one, and it probably should have had the whole episode to itself. The (dangerous) little guy really goes through some major character development here. 8/10
