a little bit of my painting process for my most recent completed piece! It's insane how many transformations each sculpture goes through before it's finalized. Every project helps me experiment to refine my workflow and add to my technique and style. For instance this one led to me using colored pencil on top of the paint to add texture and detail that really makes the whole thing come to life and feels truer to my illustrative style. This small addition to my toolbox makes a world of a difference as you can see.

That's one of my favorite parts about developing as an artist and playing with new techniques and materials. It's those small discoveries that really add up and over time enrich your work and the experience of creating to a whole new level. I am stunned what consistency with daily practice has done to enhance my skillset in ways I honestly didn't think were possible. Its fun to look back and trace that progress through each project.
