Rambling in your inbox, procrastinating edition: I'm attempting to write my presentation for my A Level French and my chosen topic is truffles (as in the mushrooms) and yeah fungi are cool!!! Yeah so the Périgord, also known as the black truffle, 80% of its production is in Vaucluse in Provence, the climate is great for growing truffles there. The spores are often found in the roots of oak, hazel and cherry trees, and the truffle and the tree have a symbiotic relationship. In Richerenches there's an event called the Truffle Mass which happens on the third Sunday of January and these guys dress in black capes and hats and lead a procession to the church where they celebrate the truffle, and during the offering the congregation donates truffles instead of money and the truffles are auctioned off to support the church!! It's one of the most expensive truffles in the world, costing €1000 per kilo wholesale and up to €4000 retail price. It has the cool property of its aroma actually getting stronger when heated as opposed to weaker, so it can be grated on top of hot dishes. I started auft because I saw you mention it a couple times!! I'm at the start of chapter 5 and I feel like I've barely scratched the surface of what's going to happen and I can't wait, RIP my sleep schedule <3

Ayyyyyyyy the return of Friday Weekend Plans Asks :DDD unfortunately this weekend won't be too exciting for me - I'm working both days and I also have to fit in some studying for my last few exams next week 😔 but we're getting takeaway from the chip shop tomorrow night so that's something to look forward to!!
