Every snowflake has six sides because of ice's natural structure.
The longest night of the year is called the winter solstice, which happens in December in the Northern Hemisphere and June in the Southern Hemisphere.
The sun appears larger in the winter because it is lower in the sky.
The word "winter" comes from an old Germanic word that means "time of water," which refers to the rain and snow that fall during this season.
The largest snowflake ever recorded was 15 inches wide and 8 inches thick.
