Well I mean objectively speaking and ignoring the creepy af vibe that Will gives off half the time and the fact that Elliott was at least legal for the majority of the series even when he wasn't actually on screen...

Will does the thing and after S2 does April's musical and stays in New York indefinitely and winds up meeting Elliott who is p. much everything he tried to instill in his kids and never stopped being himself and chasing down his dreams and he's kinda sorta ridiculously inspiring and Elliott is like 'yeah you go man congrats on chasing down your dreams even when you're old' and Will is offended but amused.
