we can comfortably create simple mods for 3 games, edit mods for another one, and install/troubleshoot on steam deck for 3 more... how did we managed to do this so that all but a single game in the final category starts with the letter s?
its not even like the letter s is over represented in games we play that can be modded, the boderlands series, witcher, and all the fallouts barring new vegas, which is the non s exception, are right there.

Wishing I knew how to mod and design so that I could put myself into Stardew Valley for my whimsy delusional self.
We hate that there's so much bad faith criticism of the Diverse Stardew mod because it makes it hard for us to talk about the, objectively minor, issues we have with the mod
The two biggest being we wish that there was an option to run the incompatible characters with SVE. We already have other mods using temporary actors that change sprites so the inconsistencies wouldn't bug us, and the bigger one is we really really wish the native Leah option kept her red hair.
This is a personal experience thing but we have family and friends who are indigenous with brighter coloured hair, either dye or natural, and its an experience that doesn't get talked about but we've seen them get so much shit about it.
We'll never forget a friend of ours talking about how her parents screamed at her for dying her hair because "native people don't have red hair you stupid shit". And that attitude was constant, our cousin who inherited my side of the families blonde hair instead of his dad's black was always questioned about it and call a pretendian.
It would have been a really cool piece of representation to keep her hair red either natural looking or dyed with dark roots, and we wish they did it.
Sam (Stardew Valley) is a butch woman mod
I made a mod so Sam (SDV) is a butch / masculine woman!
I changed her sprites, portraits, and pronouns, but left her events and personality the same! (The pink UI in the image is from a different mod, Magical Valley). It always annoys tf out of me when a character is genderswapped into a woman and they become more ditzy / timid and shows hella cleavage. I wanted to respect Sam with this mod, so the only text changes are he -> she. Link to the mod with more info is here -> Enjoy!
Also we finished another mod, its a grass recolour for short purple (and some other colours) grass. Its made for Aimons Witchy Dirty and Grass Recolour but it matches pretty well with Earthy Recolour
Its works with GMCM and has a bonus purple blue grass recolour

We did a thing!
Our first posted mod, its an alternative texture pack for the Tiny Sheds mod. Currently there's two options but we're planning on adding more

We are 70% done with a mod for the Stardew Modfest and really happy with it. We just need to do the Spring version for the building and the basic mod is good to go.
We also actually kept the files and layers named so we should be able to make the extras we want to add fairly easily, since the first set is a relatively minor swap of 2-3 layers
...we've been messing about making our own mods for Stardew and stalling out because while editing from a base is fine we aren't great at making our own pixel art. So we've got a ton of stuff custom for our game but nothing we can share.
Then while browsing the No Ice in Minnesota bundle in Itch.io we realized there's asset packs and that there's also ton of asset packs in the various itch.io charity bundles we've grabbed and everything we've checked has free permissions to edit for non commercial projects
So we have a bunch to work from already and we can easily get more from itch and the packs we'd be interested in are a couple bucks, which is honestly well worth the money for the amount of used we'd get.
Also for anyone into good games and who also wants to support organizations helping the community in Minnesota check out the bundle.
Some of the games include Baba is You, which is one of the best puzzle games ever where you rearrange sentences to change the rules of the world; Apico and Mudborne which are adorable management sims about breeding and collecting bees and frogs respectively; and Calico which is a really cute slice of life game where you create a cat cafe and is one of the only games I've ever played with diverse body types and pronouns.
Any one of these is worth $10 imo let alone all three and everything else, so we really recommend checking it out
