they nerf mike. he literally goes from staying by wills side when people are getting murdered and mauled and he’s literally at risk to not even wanting to play ONE d&d campaign with him. he’s supposed to be the heart.

literally the only plot in exploring the party dynamics is boyfriends/girlfriends. it pisses me off when something’s only plot is the romance.

they sidelined will. mf will byers just went through hell the past two years and suddenly no one gaf about him????? hello???????? even with gfs/bfs, his friends (shown in prev seasons) would literally support him through everything wtf.

mindflayer plot is straight buns. i’m sorry. story writing wise, we’ve already explored the mind flayer as a villain and what it can do and how it can possess people. we don’t need a repeat.

also the russian plot just sucks as a whole. i understand highlighting the cold war tension, but its genuinely so stupid.

how the hell do people not notice like hundreds of people going missing and never coming back?? idk but the flayed people exploding into flesh (including like little little kids) makes me so upset and i feel like it was unnecessary.

i feel like the only reason it’s seen as the best season is because it was really popular when it released, the summer vibes were cool, the eleven outfit (the tie dye and the scrunchie), and the scoops troop. i love the scoops troop but i feel like that’s the only thing people bring up when they say the like this season, because it’s like the only good thing about this season. if i had to define this with anything, it would be being blinded by nostalgia/nostalgia bias.

i have many more grievances than this, these are just the main ones.

i’ve only watched this season once. because i hate it. i haven’t touched it since 2022. because i hate it.

people say that the characters were lobotomized in season 5, but i’d argue it was in season 3.
