As a teen herself, Reeves has ideas on what that engagement might look like. She argues the city should spend less time telling young people where they cannot go and more time creating places where they can gather safely. “I love St. Louis, but I can't say that there's really a strong place for community and being, especially with young people. … I hope that I can see in the future that St. Louis … can invest more time, effort and even money into creating [third] spaces so that our community can thrive,” Reeves said. Without dedicated spaces, teenagers are often left to their own devices, which can clash with their natural biology.

Known for its revolving restaurant named “Top of the Riverfront,” the Millennium Hotel is a remarkable piece of St. Louis architecture history. Located downtown on Fourth Street, the hotel was built in 1968 and had several names over the years including the Stouffer’s Riverfront Inn, the Regal Riverfront Hotel and the Clarion Hotel. It closed in 2014 and has just been sitting there ever since.
