Yeah, I can see how Dave, Pete and Mick are objectively more handsome than Ray, but I always thought he was the most charming and interesting! I don’t know, I even think his tooth gap is kind of cute. 🤷‍♀️ It’s funny how he says that he thinks he’s ugly and next thing you know he’s taking off his pants in front of an audience and saying he’s got the greatest ass in showbiz. To quote the article: Ah, Ray, Ray, you always were a strange one.

I’ve listened to Muswell Hillbillies, but that one was not my cup of tea. It’s a little too folky for my taste. Next one on the list is Everybody’s in Show-Biz! Will listen to that tomorrow.

What is your absolute favorite track? Mine is Animal Farm. That whole album is great (honorable mention for Big Sky too!). I also really love the demo for I Go To Sleep and Days. Other songs that come to mind are David Watts, House In The Country, Shangri-La, This Time Tomorrow and The Contenders… Now that I’m listing all these great songs, I just KNOW there must be more albums by them that I will like!

muswell hillbillies initially was not my thing album when i first listened to it but then it grew on me with more listens, but i do think you’d like the other albums.

i do think it’s funny how conflicting ray is, but i think it’s his mental illnesses that also give him a warped vision of himself, like how he is insecure about his appearance yet on stage he acts like he’s the hottest shit ever (which he is) like how he used to do a striptease for the soap opera tour on every show. (something i enjoy, wink wink) a very strange man but he is likable in his way

anyway, my favorite ever kinks song if i had to choose because i have too many favorites (which includes yours) is sitting by the riverside, i use it for usernames like my discord and pinterest because i love it too much, brings a nostalgic feeling to me

Hi! I'm doing well! I hope the same for you! It is not evident from my blog, but music is THE thing for me. Very important. Here’s a little rundown

“Classic” favorites -

Cream. My very favorite band. I wish they would have stayed together for longer than a couple years, but those years were glorious. And Jack Bruce is my all-time-hands-down favorite vocalist. Love, love, love.

Other classic favorites, which I’ve classified as anything that was primarily released before the 2000s (in no particular order)

Scorpions, Iron Maiden, The Kinks, America, Bread, Pat Benatar, Heart, Carpenters, The Chi Lites, The Smiths, The Cure, Specimen, Def Leppard, Kitty Wells, Metallica, 2Pac, Adam and the Ants, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Dead or Alive, Type O Negative, Alice In Chains (I feel like I’m starting to merge on modern, let’s back it up), Alien Sex Fiend, The Birthday Party, Merle Haggard, Cher, Dwight Yoakam, Depeche Mode, David Bowie, Fleetwood Mac, Jefferson Airplane AND Starship, Styx….

And I’m just gonna cut it off here. But I legitimately like all music. Promise. I have not in my nearly 30 years on this planet come across a genre I do not like.

Yes, it's crazy how "modern" a lot of the humor on The Monkee's TV show feels! Or maybe it would be more accurate to say that modern children's TV feels very "Monkees" lolll. I didn't grow up with Wizards of Waverly Place, but I did watch Drake and Josh and ICarly and I could definitely see The Monkee's influence!

I never knew that Chris' driving was responsible for Peter Bank's injured leg. I've never met a Pisces who was a good driver, and Chris is just adding to my suspicions... Also the idea of Jon moving around the stage so he wouldn't get shot at literally made me laugh. I can just imagine Chris shouting "BOB AND WEAVE, JON! BOB AND WEAVE!!!" Poor Jon. 😭

I feel like so many musicians would benefit from having the concept of being nonbinary or trans explained to them lolll. I know a lot of my mutuals feel the same way about a host of different musicians. I don't think I've ever heard Mike Nesmith's views on gender, and you're made me curious... 👀

OMG HIIII IT IS CRAZY THAT I ACTUALLY RECOGNIZE YOUR BLOG!!! (I mean, that is maybe a given seeing how tight-nit the classic rock community is here).

There are a lot of interesting quotes from Mike's autobiography expressing how he relates to femininity. Basically stuff that can be summarized as how he viewed his childhood as genderless, and has expressed acknowledgement of having both masculine and feminine characteristics in his personality. Then there is his iconic screen test (first one in this compilation, but they all are worth checking out).

I don't have actual receipts on hand (and a cursory search shows I'd have to do a lot more digging to find specific ones), but yeah...he's a very interesting guy.

I’m glad you enjoyed the Rush songs I sent you, and thanks for sharing some Police lore!!! What are some of your other favorite bands besides the Police? For me, besides Rush I really enjoy other prog acts like ELP, Yes, Genesis, Kansas, etc. I’m also a fan of some pop punk and emo stuff, like I really like MCR and P!ATD’s first album.

hey there! no worries at all for the delay! it's wild how december feels like the busiest month of the year this time around lol. I hope your finals go well!

my other favorite bands are mostly 60s/70s in general although i do think I'm fairly mercurial in what I listen to. like there's only so many listening hours per day so as I discover new favorites I have to leave old favorites behind </3 I have been very into prog lately and it's been so fun just going crazy with that, but some of my all timers are jefferson airplane, pink floyd, peter paul and mary, sade, enya, and misc artists who do like jazz fusion and stuff :) i used to be very into pop punk! mcr/patd/fob god that was my life and sometimes i'll still put it on if i'm in the mood! I love that you clarified p!atd's first album lol because yeah that's their best and arguably only album 😭

what got you to transition from the pop punk/emo sphere to classic rock? for me it was pandora radio stations that progressively played more of that music, so I got into it via journey and boston etc and just let my taste change over time. my family wasn't big on secular music in the house so it was never introduced to me that way lmao

Obv i like the mid-late 70s punk era, but i also like some post grunge bands
