The SR2 Normandy

The Normandy was always a beautiful ship. By design, she was different from other Alliance vessels and  it didn’t take long for standard ships to seem slightly foreign when Marie was aboard. They were still familiar but she found she no longer moved through them with the same ease, the memories of where consoles were placed, the curves in the hull, the time it took for each door to open, had faded. There was a time when she could have walked from stem to stern on any one of dozens of ships in the fleet, coffee in one hand while reading a datapad, dodging crewman without looking up, barely having to pause at thresholds, and all without tripping or spilling a drop. Then it became a luxury reserved only for the Normandy. Like the language of lovers, it was something shared only between them, a dance performed with a single partner. And what a dance it was.

N7 Month 2022 with mini Kaidan

N7 Day: Let them see

For the N7 Day I decided to do it in a slightly different style, using one of the amazing bases by @snuffysbox It’s still Kaidan, of course. And Ivory Shepard. Some time after Kaidan joins the Normandy again in Mass Effect 3. They embrace their relationship and stop caring what other people might think. There’s a Galaxy war, you need to take everything you can from each single day. And being with the loved ones is one of them. 

For the background I just used a slightly altered screenshot from the game. I like all the light here.

I know it sounds preety ridicoulous, but... Honestly on my ME2 playtrough I felt like Shepard was preety close to actual corsair with their own ship. He/she operates mainly in Terminus systems, out of control of Alliance Navy. Considered dead after destruction of their previous vessel, they come back, under the flag of mysterious and illegal organisation and gather a crew for their dangerous quest. Omega is a lair of scoundrels and pirates - sounds almost like legendary Tortuga.

Joker would be a steersman. Best damn steersman Normandy could have.

EDI would be an self-consious navigational help.

Kelly Chambers - adjutant

Miranda - first officer, altough rather unpopular among the crew (she’s the highest in ranks of Cerberus and to be honest before gaining her loyalty she seemed likely to betray Shepard at some point)

Garrus - main canoneer.

Mordin - would mantain his position as a xenobiologist, he can also help with astronomical problems. Sings the most tuneless shanty you may hear.

Tali - would mainly coordinate gravity systems and engine thrust, together with other engineers. She was born and raised on the ship, so she has absolutely no problem with moving quickly around the vessel, including shrouds and yards. She can build a working engine and sunsail from almost nothing.

Samara - her favourite place would be at the fortop.

Jack - She’s happiest on lowest deck, near the bilge. She’d be a deckhand (much to her disgust - she’d prefer handling executions to helping with sails with her biotics)

Jacob - he seems very conscientious, sits in armory all the time and he greets almost every new crewmember so I think that beside being skilled fighter he’d make a fine quartermaster.

Grunt - He’d be on the deck mainly as a soldier, but he’s also suitable to any work requiring a lot of strenght (though he’s not too good with knots - they weren’t in his visions in the tank and he hasn’t enough patience to learn them)

Legion - He certainly has a good sense of balance and no fear of height, so he probably would be the first to work at sails. I feel that he’d just go quietly around the ship and help with what’s needed at the moment. Scrub the decks? Clean the hull? Here you are. Geth don’t need rest and he’d really like to make himself useful.

Thane - I know Thane wouldn’t be a good shantyman. Really.

Zaeed - He’s a mercenary, and I think that’s what he does best. Occasionaly used by Shepard as an equivalent of a megaphone.

Kasumi - She would be a best messenger, but only if she considers the message important. Otherwise no one is able to tell where she is at the moment.
