#sprite sheet

I got myself Aseprite and figured out how to make a sprite sheet! Super cool, gotta use it more~

..ahem. anyway, fan artists, heres most of the refs i could gather for these two, and ig i could also post the full layout concept for phil's room in the dorms, but also i do wanna stay safe and not share anything not meant to be shared, so..these you all get! plus a few edits of my own here and there to help not just me, but anyone else wanting a few different views of small things! enjoy, artists and anyone else that just wants to appreciate the clear TALENT AND HEART AND ENJOYMENT AND WORK that goes into making this game!! remember, all but the edits which are still from their stuff, is by SQUARE BUTTERFLY INTERACTIVE! their stuff, i just put it all in easier spaces in a helpful ish layout! enjoy! thank your local indie devs!!

oh and im putting them all under a read more line for spoilers sake for the included endings and such, in case anyone coming across this wants to give the game a go!

..well ok there is one thing im unsure of, and i asked a few pals about it, but the first image of the howie sprites, what looks like a cutscene of howie blinking at the camera, seems to be either unused or cut ig? im really unsure, but its not really giving anything away other than "oh gosh thats an island right there" so it can work i think!

I was rather disappointed to learn that neither Lanino or Elnina received dialogue portraits for their text boxes (Would have made discerning them a smidge easier...), so I took it upon myself to draw exactly twenty for each of them! <333

The concept art of young Byleth and young Beleto. The dagger on top left is Byleth’s dagger with the symbol of Knights of Seiros on its scabbard, which she gifts it to Dimitri. The dagger on bottom left is a dagger with royal blue hilt, golden filigree in shape of the flower, and its scabbard made out of iridescent white opal, which Dimitri gifts it to Byleth. The wooden amulet on top right is Beleto’s hawthorn charm amulet which he gifts it to Edelgard. The pendant on bottom right is Edelgard’s red garnet pendant which its golden part is shaped after the two headed eagles from Adrestian Empire banner, and the red garnet’s pear cut is akin to crest of Seiros.

Her hair has grown longer during two years time skip. Her hair braids with pink and white ribbon weaved in is akin to Sothis’s ribbon hair braids. Her braids are secured together with long pink ribbon and golden heart shaped hairclip, shown at the back of her head.

Layer 1: Short sleeved undershirt with cleavage window homage to Byleth’s original mercenary undershirt except midriff section is fully covered, mid-waist white short skirt containing pink thick border hem of the skirt and thin golden line right above it and pink waistline, and opaque tights.

Layer 2: Her white dress and skirt underneath her armor is inspired by the dress of monastery nun, though the tight fitting sleeves part is inspired by the sleeves of female bishop class’s dress.

Layer 3: White and gold corset armor, heart shaped tassets, couters, vambraces, cuisses, heart shaped poleyns, greaves (lower leg armor), and sabatons with pink high heeled soles (just like how Edelgard has her sabatons with red high heeled soles).

Layer 4: Her white high collared cape is inspired by Saint Seiros, though Byleth’s cape has houppelande sleeves and pauldrons over it, which is homage to her default mercenary cape. Also, whereas underneath of Seiros’s cape is colored crimson, underneath of Byleth’s cape is colored pink. She also wears a medallion with its shape being a head of lioness on her chest mirroring the lion head adornment on Dimitri’s chest armor, with pink tassel another shout-out to her default mercenary design. The dagger on her hip is a gift from Dimitri during their childhood.

Layer 2: Her white dress and skirt underneath her armor is inspired by the dress of monastery nun, though the tight fitting sleeves part is inspired by the sleeves of female bishop class’s dress. The fasteners on back of her dress are based on medieval hooked clasps.

Layer 3: White and gold corset armor, heart shaped tassets, couters with heart shaped adornments, vambraces, cuisses, heart shaped poleyns, greaves (lower leg armor), and sabatons with pink high heeled soles (just like how Edelgard has her sabatons with red high heeled soles).

Layer 4: Her white high collared cape is inspired by Saint Seiros, though Byleth’s cape has houppelande sleeves and pauldrons over it, which is homage to her default mercenary cape.

Byleth during War Phase with Dimitri beside her for comparison. Her armor design is feminine counterpart to Dimitri’s armor such as the medallion on her chest shaped like a head of lioness mirroring the lion-head adornment showing on Dimitri’s chest armor, and asymmetrical design of pauldrons with one of them having heart shaped adornment. As same reason as Dimitri, Byleth was told that wearing this armor raises their army’s morale.
